Chapter three

Chapter Three

Vincent screamed, wondering what was taking over his body. Suddenly, he passed out on the floor. Evelyn slowly walked towards his body, so confused about what just happened. She saw a note slightly slipping out of his pocket. She read it aloud, and said, “Evelyn this is Fredrick, Vincent’s friend. I don’t know exactly what happened, but from what I found out the lost explorer had been possessed by a night whisperer; when he tried to help him, he got bitten and got infected. Good luck trying to sort him out. -Fredrick.” She quickly realised that if Vincent tried to help the lost explorer, he knows where he is now!

Eventually, Vincent awoke. “W-what happened?” he murmured. “It’s a long story, but if you really want to know, read this.” Evelyn explained, handing him the note. He read it slowly in his head, and his jaw kept getting closer and closer to the floor. He was speechless. “So, do you know where he is now?” Evelyn asked. Vincent ran to the trees behind them, hoping that Ermitage was still there. But as soon as he got in the forest, he saw a person walking towards him: The lost explorer. Or so he thought. He was acting differently. Kind of like a night whisperer.

As he got closer, Vincent was slowly taking steps back. Soon enough he revealed himself. It was Wrigglesworth, but possessed.  He quietly crept towards Evelyn and Vincent. “Should we run?” Evelyn whispered. “No, we could never outrun him.” replied Vincent.  They both looked at him, wondering what to do. Evelyn ran, and Vincent followed. Ermitage chased them. Breathing heavily, Vincent hid with Evelyn behind a wall. Evelyn reached into her bag, and pulled out a hammer. She hesitated for a moment, but she went and hit him on the head; he fell to the ground.

Ermitage awoke after around 20-30 minutes. “WE DID IT! WE FOUND HIM!” Evelyn yelled excitedly. She jumped into the air with joy. They finally found the lost explorer. “Sorry, I don’t know what happened to me.” Ermitage quoted. “I have been lost for ages, and I think I was possessed by a goblin,or a night whisperer or something like that.” Evelyn explained everything, and how the same thing happened to Vincent earlier. “It was quite scary, but we handled it.” Vincent said with a bit too much confidence. But even though everything turned out happy, Evelyn looked around for a moment, and found that when Vincent wasn’t looking, what they thought was Ermitage was taking off what looked like a mask, and underneath was an unidentified creature. Suddenly, he looked at Evelyn. There was no way out. No escape. Just them, all alone. What could happen?

Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Over the next few weeks, the ship flew through all kinds of weather, such as rain, storms, heatwaves, snow and more. Mostly thunderstorms, but once it got so bad that we had to do an emergency water landing! Rain was jumping from clouds, lightning was lighting up the whole sky with its golden strikes of terror. One Tuesday afternoon, everyone could see rows of islands below, (with some leftover snow on them). Fantastic bushy branches and crystal clear seas, all covering each and every island. Not a cloud in the sky to cover up the sun, and everything was being reflected on oceans, the lakes and rivers. But the island that really stood out was the Isle of Doom. It had dead plants and animals everywhere, dark clouds were covering the top of the island, and mentally broken spirits haunting the place, and following anyone who dares to enter.
Looking out of the window, Evelyn took pictures of the amazing view. But then she ever so slightly turned her head and was forced to lay her eyes on the Isle of Doom. A horrified look formed upon her face. She wondered, “What if someone lives there?” Her eyes started to tear. She felt so bad if anyone did. She tried to take her mind off things by looking at other islands, and it worked. Every crew member could see the ship slowly coming closer to the ground. Beautiful , majestic flowers and cliffs, all sitting there, watching the scene.
After a lot of tension, the ship finally landed on the Isle of Adventure. Vincent jumped from the back of the line to out of the door. “Everyone get a good night’s sleep tonight, and tomorrow we will look for Wrigglesworth.” Captain Relphart announced. As soon as Evelyn stepped foot out of the door, she looked around in amazement. The island was so bright with the sun out and everyone was wearing sunglasses. They could see the enchanted lake from across the land, and the golden temples and bright, tall cliffs and hills. Evelyn could smell the summer breeze and cookies from the bakery down the road, and Vincent saw the bright lights from above the Skyship.
It was at that moment that Evelyn heard a faint whisper in her ear saying, “H-help me.” She froze. Branches snapped. Sweat was running down her forehead. Again, she heard, “P-please i’m lost.” Quickly , she turned around. No one was there. Could it be Ermitage Wrigglesworth? But if it was, where did he go? Did he quickly run away when she turned around? She turned back around and saw a silhouette of a human right in front of her. She screamed at the top of her lungs. Suddenly, it disappeared. She thought she was going mad, until Vincent said, “Y-you heard that too, right?” Evelyn nodded, but she was still frozen with fear. “Good, I thought I was mad.” Vincent said. But he sounded a lot like the lost explorer. Evelyn turned around while her eyes were as big as the eiffel tower, and saw Ermitage Wrigglesworth, in the place of… every crew member.

My Adventure Story

My adventure story – prologue

Let’s recap back to December, you might’ve been on holiday and travelled on a Skyship. You probably gazed at the enchanted lake, the sunlit beach, covered in snow with seagulls gliding around and the clear, mystical depths of the deep blue ocean. The twinkling stars glancing down at you from above. You may have heard howlers if you turned left coming from out of the woods, however you are flying above them, so you can’t be harmed. Anytime it got cold, you were probably wrapped up in blankets and coats, because when the air conditioning doesn’t work, it can get as cold as the south pole. There would’ve been hot chocolate machines with employees handing out free hot chocolate. Travelling by Skyship in winter is like that.

Although it sounds fun, there are some downsides to it. Turbulence can be scary, but if you like being thrown around for 20 minutes straight, you’d be fine. You should come across a situation where there’s no food left on the entire ship, for the goblins invade at night. Try surviving if the pilots fall asleep and no one can steer. There ought to be a troll attack at least once, they will dig their teeth into your skin, or worse, knock you out so you can’t feel them inject their venom into you, which will result in you becoming a troll. If we run out of AIR, then that’s a problem. Everyone would be forced to put on oxygen masks, but when you put one on, it puts chemicals into your mouth, so some people refuse to put them on. But that always results in them passing out on the floor for a few hours.

Chapter One.

Evelyn and Vincent were getting ready to take off. Both of them were glancing out of the window, while the crowd was cheering and applauding outside. Captain Relphart is setting up in the cockpit. He took a deep breath and confidently laid his hands on the wheel. Suddenly, the engines scream as the Skyship slowly and carefully rises off the ground. Evelyn let out a huge high pitched squeal of excitement, Vincent was spraying the door with whisperer repellent, so the night whisperers don’t want to come in. And before they knew it, they were in the air!

Everyone on board gasped as they gazed out of the window. They could see the enchanted bridge and the trolls from underneath were shimmering as the sun laid its golden beams on their heads. The extreme summer air is as fiery as a cosy fireplace in frosty winter. Evelyn takes a whiff of the air, looking at the astonishing view out of the clear window quietly. Thinking about getting a hot chocolate. Vincent smiled. “Just think, Ermitage Wrigglesworth is lost out there, he could be anywhere.” Evelyn sighs as she thinks to herself, if they don’t find him, she would never forgive herself. Or Vincent.

A deafening sound suddenly hits everyone’s eardrums. The whole Ship starts to shake. Screams were bursted out everywhere. Captain Relphart makes it clear to everyone that it’s just turbulence and it’ll be over in a few minutes. After that incident they could hear birds singing, the warm breeze roaring and the engine growling. Every crew member was amazed how they are so lucky that they are able to experience this. Evelyn looked at Vincent, and was wondering how he was sleeping already.

Everyone was enjoying themselves, until they heard a little bang on the door. Vincent woke up as the banging became louder. Scared looks appeared upon everyone’s face. Some people hid behind cabinets, some grabbed weapons. Whatever was banging on the door, it really wanted to get in. After about half an hour, the door opened and a Chaiah barged in with its razor blade-like teeth, frizzy hair and pointed, threatening claws. Everyone screamed, but Vincent walked over to it, after it decapitated three or four people and said, “Good job George, it all went to plan,” smirking.

My letter to Captain Harriet Culpepper.

Dear Captain Harriet Culpepper,

I am writing to ask if I could get a job on the skyship Aurora as a crew member. I am hoping to join you on your next journey. I understand that you are looking for a missing explorer named Ermitage Wrigglesworth, and I am so determined to find him as well as joining all your adventures with the crew on the skyship.

Firstly, I graduated from flying- sky academy with straight A’s at the top of my class at the age of 17. I graduated early because of how skilled I was at maths, science, physics, biology and more. Secondly, I can make any weapon from scratch. You could give me an empty glass bottle and an empty roll of tissue paper and I could turn it into a bow and arrow. Next, I can identify any mythical creatures, even if it’s in disguise. This could be useful if a goblin came in disguised as a human trying to get into the skyship because we would know.

Next, my navigation and geography knowledge is incredible. I practise steering games on my Xbox, so if you need another steerer, I’m free.

Moreover, my hobbies may come in handy sometimes. If we ever see a troll or giant, I could fight them off with my extraordinary archery and fencing skills. I take fencing classes 3 times a week for 3 hours, and I do archery 2 days a week for 4 hours. Or if we have a water landing, I can swim everyone who can’t swim back to safety. I take swimming lessons 4 days a week for 2 hours. Also if you need a new cook, I got all A’s in cooking, so you can count on me.

Furthermore, I have quite a lot of experience with skyships. When my father was alive, he taught me how to fly a skyship, and he let me fly it. Therefore, I have 2,000 miles of experience flying one. Next, I have travelled in skyships for work over 13 times. This means I know how they work and I will be less annoying asking about them.

Moreover, I am really really good at building and fixing skyships, so I will be able to fix it if it breaks. This will reduce any crashes that could happen if it breaks. I am also good at engineering. Consequently, if the engine malfunctions or something, I could fix it straight away.

Overall, I would really like to get this job and join the crew on your adventures. I promise I will make you proud and look after the skyship. Please consider me for a role on the skyship as a crew member.

Yours sincerely, Layla Thewsey.

  1. PS. I will have to bring my pet Ostru (ostrich crossed with an emu,) called Paul. He is well behaved, eats gnomes and makes friends easy, (but not with dragons).

How to find a lost explorer

Capture the violent grizzly bear,

And hold it down until it gives you a clue

As to where the lost explorer is,

Hold your breath until it gives you the envelope of truth.

Open the shimmering envelope

Before you lay your eyes on the clue,

Although the words are all mixed up,

Don’t let it trick you.

Climb the ladder of difficulty,

Jump over the lake of fire,

Swim through the ocean of fear,

But don’t trip over the powerful, electric wire.

Hurry through the impossible path,

Until you come across the 3 wise owls,

Give them the envelope

As they screech and growl.

Whilst they tell you the clue,

You must listen very carefully,

They say the next clue is where you kill illnesses,

It’s at the hospital of course!

Arrive at the horrifying hospital,

Patients screaming and crying.

But you must find the clue,

So keep on trying.

X-ray machines holding their breath,

Blood samples weeping of sadness.

You finally found the clue!

Now their weeping of gladness.

Clear the envelope,

Read across the lines slowly,

The lost explorer is in the tower!

You must go there now.

After you arrive,

Sneak behind the guardians of the tower’s back,

In the top of the tower,

You must hurry to find the lost explorer!

Enter the room of shivering shadows,

Turn on the tall table light.

The lonely, lingering lost explorer should be there,

They hug you with all their might!

The Isles of Mysteries

On the island of fear,

I located terrifying tarantulas of terror,

Crazy clowns caught in a crime scene,

And deadly, deafening noises of dangerous dogs.

On the island of storms,

I glanced upon water dropping drifters,

Glowing dashes of terror,

And thunderous noises of fear.

On the island of the Ocean,

I found water blowing swimmers drifting along the whale highway,

Giant fish eaters hunting for innocent bubble makers,

And threatening long legged blobs of panic.

On the island of night,

I discovered young children dashing from the park like mice speeding away from cats,

Air as cold as unmelted glaciers in the Arctic,

And hooting owls singing like a choir at Christmas.

The rainbow masks

The Rainbow Masks

I wore the green  mask and saw

Emerald crystals laying on the windowsill

Frogs leaping joyfully across lily pads

Spring leaves growing on oak trees

And minty toothpaste spread across a toothbrush

I wore the Disney mask and saw

The explosive fireworks by the shining Disney Castle

The extremely tall hollywood tower of terror ride

People eating national dishes from around the world at Epcot

And people taking selfies next to the Tree of Life

I wore the Valentines mask and saw

Dove Cameron and Thomas Doherty romantically dancing

People giving flowers to their lovers on park benches

Couples watching romantic movies in the cinema

And Walt Disney and Lillian Disney dancing to a dream is a wish your heart makes.

I wore the summer mask and saw

Kids running around in the park

The shops all sold out of icecream and ice

The excitement on kids faces when they hear the ice cream van song

And sleeping with thin blankets and a fan opposite your bed

The Lost Girl

Long ago, in a place far north of here, a lonely girl wandered hoping for a better life. She wasn’t any older than ten years, yet she still wandered alone. People stared, snickered and whispered while she walked past. The whole town knew she had no one to take care of her, however not one person sat and helped with her problems. She usually settled under the huge willow tree stood in the middle of town, although today she sat below the oak tree near Mrs Benson’s Garden. What was she doing there? She stared to the left to see…

What should I paint?

Maybe I should paint-

a panicking parrot perfectly packing,

a beastly bear beheading breathless bats

or a rebellious rhino raging restlessly

maybe I should paint-

a loud lion leaping,

a bewildered baboon

or a shy sloth sniffling

Maybe I should paint-

a wonderful wren with white lilac wings like feathers of milky ways,

a slimy snake slithering past a rushing lake

or a fluttering flamingo flying over five fancy flats

maybe I should paint-

a mind of magic,

a toppling tower of tasks

or an igloo of imagination

maybe I should paint-

a poster of pets,

a library of love

or a galaxy of gasps

wait! I should paint…

smooth sandstone on the beautiful beach like little conkers from tall trees.
