Mayuki-What is a poem?
What is life? A baby coming out of a mother’s belly and seeing the world for the first time, a chicklet cracking the egg shell with all its might and plants growing everyday- one day becoming a tree.
What is death? The wildfire killing the poor trees and animals, ants killed by humans’ feet and the cows and sheep soon to be eaten as a dinner.
What is new? A new start at a new school, brand new shoes from Adidas and Crispy Creams making a new doughnut recipe.
What is old? Your grandparents forgetting your name and how old you are, dinosaurs that does not even exist anymore and turtles living for a very long time by moving slowly.
What is soft? A bird’s feather falling from the sky like a white snow, a baby’s hand so fragile that you have to be careful when touching it and my puppy’s feather falling out and growing again.
What is hard? A house built with bricks and concrete, an enormous rock which is twice the size of a human and steel bars almost invincible to anything.
Mayuki’s I have Never Poem
Mayuki’s I have never Poem
I have never seen a mermaid with a glittering tail, but I have seen a whale swimming gracefully in the middle of a sea.
I have never eaten a 1,000 pound chocolate, but I have ate snow on a winter day.
I have never felt a gigantic dinosaur’s ruff skin, but I have touched my puppy’s smooth and silky fur.
I have never swam in a sea full of sharks, but I have swam in River Thames on a school trip.
I have never ridden on a fire breathing dragon, but I have been on a pony.
I want to paint
I want to paint…
a lily dancing swiftly with the wind in the night, crying for others to join in, A red rose dripping blood on the ground like a dying soul, ready to lose its beauty, and a lavender spreading peace and quiet inside our hearts, the queen of tranquility.
I want to paint
a sneaky polar bear trying to paint itself like a panda; a fearless lion roaring deafeningly, also known as the king of the animal kingdom, whipping its tail ferociously, and an elephant, stomping its way like a giant monster.
I want to paint
a splendid island with dolphins swimming gracefully around the deserted island like mermaids protecting it, on the beautiful island, delicious coconut trees everywhere. An ocean glittering like a red ruby as the sun sets under the deep sea. An underwater castle guarding the sea and its citizens, living peacefully for thousands of years.
