Shed

The shed sits in wait on the cold hard slab.

The pitched roof partly covered by leaves blending into the garden.

The timber door damp weathered and seasoned held screwed by the russet hinges.

Planted pot terracotta red in stark contrast to the ship-lap panels.

Haiku

Chilly snowflakes

Falling twinkling from the sky.

Icy snow crunching

Under foot strong and firm

Frozen lakes white and blue

inviting me in.

Spring

Snowflakes melt away.

The winter thaw starts new life.

Daffodils appear.

Lambs spring into life.

Baby birds twitter away.

Spring is here to stay.

Spring haiku

Baby animal born

leaping through fresh green fields

young lambs with their mums.

New flowers blooming

daffodils, daises, tulips,

bursting with colours.

Hibernation ends

foxes,beavers,squirrels,bats

ready for their food.

summer haiku

Sunny holiday.

Sun cream and sunshine-relax.

Summer on the beach.

Hot sand and waves crash.

Fish and chips and ice cream cones.

I find crabs and shells.

Birds bathe inn the sea.

Seabirds hunt fish in the sea.

Calm down at the beach.

Summer

The sun reflecting

Ladies wearing sun glasses

Children lick ice cream .

Dogs running crazy

Sun flowers sprinting high up

Blue sky  with white clouds.

The Shed

The old shed stands quiet,

Thinking about the days gone by,

When his doors stood open more often,

And the summer sun blazed in the sky,

Its time then was filled with laughter,

And screams of delight and surprise,

As children played with the treasure,

That the teachers fetched from inside.

But now the lights falling faster,

The winter winds start to bite,

Now the door no longer stands open,

As the seasons snow starts to take flight,

Gone is the laughter of children,

Along with the leaves and the trees,

The shed takes his seasonal slumber,

Awaiting a warm summers breeze.

The icy cold snow

crackles when you walk on it

showing where you go.

The howling cold wind

blowing in the starry night

showing where to go .

The sun warms the cold air

as it rises in the sky

showing you where to go.

Autumn haiku

Long days grow colder.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Old leaves hit the soggy ground.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Red,orange leaves crunch.

Haiku

The leaves on the ground

colours  like a rainbow

crumbling beneath my feet.

Animals snuggled up

cold closing in

leaves are a cosy blanket.
