The Masks

The masks

I put on the yellow mask and saw

A big banana waiting silently to be eaten,

The minions waiting patiently for Gru and

The sun flowers waving in the heavy winds.

I put on the blue mask and saw

the wavey waves of the deep, dark ocean,

The hot and powerful blue flames and

The blue birds soaring through the jungle

I put on the red mask and saw

The fiery, spicy pepper sitting still,

The fast, beating heart racing and

The rosy strawberry dripping its flavor

I put on the green mask and saw

The soaked dripping leaf laying silently,

A brown bowl full of pears and limes and

The parrots flying through the damp trees

I put on the white mask and saw

The fluffy clouds flouting in the air,

The empty pages of a math book and

The clear white snow flowing in the winter

I put on the black mask and saw

A midnight black cat creeping around,

The sky as black as a TV switched off and

The dark water in the midnight sky.

A mask rainbow

A mask rainbow

I wore the white mask and saw

Cream coloured clouds as white as snow

Shivering sheep in the cold wintery fields

And shiny snow owls swooping speedily onto their prey

I wore the black mask and saw

Crows as dark as coal squawking silently

The midnight sky rising rapidly blinding the earth below

And caves crumbling and crashing from the inside of the mountain

I wore the green mask and saw

The bright broccoli coloured grass grabbing glistening shoes

Miners in the shaft emerging with the glowing emeralds from underground

And the trees toppling over in the raging wind

I wore the orange mask and saw

A fiery blaze shooting out of an erupting volcano

The sun burning up everything like lava

And the old stars exploding into ashes

I wore the purple mask and saw

A bunch of great grapes waiting to be eaten

The bottom of a rainbow slowly disintegrating

And the fireworks lighting up the sky on bonfire night

The Mask

The mask

I wore the mask of red lava and

crimson hot magma came jumping out at me,

red smoke rises like there’s no gravity

and crimson boulders tumbling and destroying trees that are too close to the lava.

I wore the mask of deep black space and saw

Exoplanets dodging asteroids like its Dodgeball,

stars looking down at the exoplanets like people looking at an ancient statue

And galaxies shining bright like the sun.

I wore the mask of white mountains

Towering over me like a skyscraper,

the tired climbers looking up at the mountain covered in snow

And a herd of goats walking on the four furry legs.

The Mask Rainbow

The Mask Rainbow

I wore the red mask and saw,

Rudolph’s red nose glowing like a light bulb guiding Santa’s sleigh through the midnight sky,

Crimson red Christmas baubles hanging from a towering, tall Christmas tree

and smooth, scarlet red holly berries sitting on spikey holly bushes.

I wore the yellow mask and saw,

the shimmering rays of the sun shining down upon the earth,

the yellow petals of a dazzling daffodil swaying in the wind

And curvy bananas sitting in a fruit bowl like small crescent moons.

I wore the emerald, green mask and saw,

tall trees towering above the ground below,

Frogs jumping up and like kangaroos

and mint chocolate chip ice cream in a cone that looks like an upside-down unicorn horn.

I wore the pink mask and saw,

A flamingo standing tall like a giraffe on one leg,

A ballerina twirling gracefully like a carousel

and a fluffy cloud of candy floss on a spikey stick.

I wore the diamond blue mask and heard

the rocky river running down the hillside,

the wonderful waves carrying boats along the sparkling sea

and bluebirds tweeting like a choir singing Christmas Carrols.

I wore the snow-white mask and felt

A huge white cloud as fluffy as a sheep,

A snowy owls silky, smooth soft feathers

And the softness of snow-white rose petals.
