The ocean in Spain

I’ve never swam with dolphins,

but I have watched my fish Mango swim back and forth.

I’ve never drank the ocean in Spain,

but I have tasted my salty tears.

I’ve never had a banquet with my friends,

but I have had a roast dinner.

I’ve never wrestled Tyson Fury,

but I have kicked my sister.

I’ve never designed a hotel in Skegness,

but I have built a hairdresser with lego.

I’ve never jumped into a volcano,

but I have burnt my tongue with gravy.

I’ve never travelled the whole world,

but I have seen the world on a globe.

I’ve never seen the end of this poem,

but I have now.

I want to paint…

I want to paint…

I want to paint a cat as white as the clouds in the sky. I want to paint a rose as red as blood. I want to paint swans swimming silently as the river rages. I want to paint all the stars in the sky, as the majestic moon passes by.

I want to paint the distance between me and my family. I want to paint the memory of all my ancestors who have passed beyond. I want to paint all my friends that have moved away.

I want to paint the taste of all the food I’ve enjoyed. I want to paint the smell of the toasty campfire, where we roasted melting marsh mellows. I want to paint the memory of when we went on holiday to Greece last year.

I want to paint the end of this poem.
