A Lonely Axolotl

The water-twister’s skin,
flamingo pink it is,
surrounds a blank full-stop.
The eye of a great listener.
All these features were gifted to him outside
his prison pane of glass…

Sharp as heaven’s spears,
coral whiskers bristling.
Amphibian tail twirling,
as it dances through
the searing sea.
But it’s all outside
his prison pane of glass…

Onyx as its perch,
it sits there pondering,
what life is like outside
his prison pane of glass…

Before the bars, it was so fun,
the memories bursting back.
But it was all outside
his prison pane of glass…

Stones slumbering on the seabed…
His siblings swimming side-by-side…
Happiness, joy, freedom…
It’s all outside
his prison pane of glass…

The Grain-Muncher Benjamin SWW

Sand-soaked, the Cornish chicken prepares to run.

The pupil locks onto it target,
staring into it’s future.
A ring of fire intimidatingly its prey.

It’s broad chest getting ready to run,
legs like branches getting into position,
the beak yellow like a ripe lemon.

Contaminated gold ripples down the neck,
transparent Onyx engulfs the torso,
legs like cerussite.

Grain-muncher,
day-breaker,
egg-layer.

Its unprecedented movements,
floating through the shadows,
waking the forest.

Cheetah

Without a blink of an eye, a rusted ring
like coal with a pupil the middle stared.

Whiskers like barb-wire.

The fast runner is like Usain Bolt racing to it’s prey.

Sneaking around the trees,
the cheetah has shadows of
heavy cage bars.

Feline Foe

Feline Foe

Tiger’s ears are
cannons after firing,
jolting upwards towards
the unwary kill.

Its eyes are car engine
warning lights,
flickering on and off, glowing amber.

Its whiskers are wiry needles
curved and uneven, sensing
fear, touch and its prey.

Its teeth are yellowed, ceramic,
whetted knives, cage bars
grasping its prey with a life-
stealing grip.

Its growl is deep, fear-striking,
low and feral, making its prey
know how desperately hungry
it is.

Its movements are unsurpassed,
slinky, large muscular thighs,
********** towards its meal,
pulsing in sync with its heart,
rapidly beating, pumping adrenaline.

The Wolf

The Wolf by Bella SWW
The wolf is stalking under sheets of trees,
his eyes are like drawings, sketched upon his determined face,
they dart around in the snow, expectant, waiting.

His pupils are like pits of black treacle ,
if you fall in, you will be slowly devoured by the wonder,
it is they that can see, they that keep him alive.

His Teeth are like daggers, stained with red,
fiercely he snaps them, ready to attack,
ready to rip, ready to stain them again.

His nose is shiny like a priceless Jem,
to sniff out the danger, even when the danger is him,
he would be nothing without them, he could be dead.

His ears twitch like a cats tail,
something is waking, his ears never lie,
this animal has no chance, and it is all the twitchers fault.

His whiskers are like weary wires,
helping him through the maze like woods,
he knows what to do now, it’s easy.

Now he can see it and off he runs,
the poor animal his life has gone,
the wolf smiles wickedly.

Matador By Ralph SWW

Matador
The bull began to run.

Sand flicked up as the bone-breaker
readies its evil attack.

Glistening with sweat, the black skin blurred,
as it skipped and stumbled on the sand.

Its ragged, black and lumpy tail flopped,
like something dancing on the spot.

The majestic blood-red horns glinted in the sun,
ready to spike his enemies to dye his horns.

Its golden eyes were full of sorrow like a lonely planet,
hoping he would win this round.

As blunt as a rock ,
the teeth did not belong to a muscular warrior

But the bull was trapped:
there was no way out.
He slowly fell onto the ground
as the world around him faded away.
