Barry stared at the decaying burger. Outside the cracking window, a wind swept across the ghost town. Cars purred by and on the promenade, newspapers tumbled along, driven by the wind. The sea rolled up the trashed beach, crashing against the jagged rocks that fringed the dirty shoreline.

I am writing to inform you about the upcoming events on the local calendar. There are some very brilliant events in the calendar.

First, there will be a procession through the town, consisting of a wide variety of contributions. Anyone involved must be careful not to get in the way of the crowds or there will be a very big fuss. The mayor will judge the best baby competition. While that is going on, you could get yourself down to Mr Chippys and get an excellent meal.

After that, there will be a dance display in the town square. If you are watching, please stand back so you do not get in the way. The market will be open all afternoon.

Finally, the firework display will be held in Prince’s Park at exactly six. We hope you all have a wonderful time.

Rumble, rumble, bang… Where was he? He was just on the beach and now he was in this city if you could even call it that (it was more a ghost town, covered in debris and sand plus a waterfall flooding half the town didn’t make it better). He was scared; he was stuck. He tried looking back up the hole, but it was covered. Had he gone mad.

He searched for a while yet had no luck, he found only the dirt and sand under his feet and the sea-like water source that seemed to go on forever. Then he saw it three amazing sites in front of his own eyes: a castle with a gold gate and the walls that went on for miles encased in sand covering the shining marble that lied beneath; a giant metal creature that had scratches and holes yet upon closer inspection it turned out to be a plane – maybe it suffered the same fate as him – and a city like the crumbled one he had witnessed before. Was he in a secret city? (had he found Atlantis) he wanted to get out of it so, he ran and ran until he got to the giant golden gates, he found a pile of sand that went over the wall and entered the castle. He saw statues of gods that were as grand as diamonds and there he saw it, a staircase that led to the upper world. He was conflicted, he needed to get home yet he could have made a discovery of a lifetime he would carry on yet he should keep that in mind.  He collected evidence of the city and returned to the castle where he placed one foot on the outside world.

Puff, puff, puff, he was panting uncontrollably he was on the beach -as crowded as it was when he fell-. He reached into his pocket to preach to the world what he found but the treasures were gone, and his memory was foggy maybe I dreamt it he thought.

Had he discovered land? A land where items go missing or memories go to fade, that is where all the missing item went.

The old man staggered while he started making his way to his house.

He sat down at the table and told everyone to order although the others had yet to arrive.

The snow fell as Tom waited carefully; he was in the flat then the phone rang. He picked it up and he listened suddenly he crossed the room. As he picked up the suitcase before he opened the door, and he went outside.

Although I took my time, it was scary.

After I ate my breakfast, it was a strange request.

When there was a snake there, I played my music loudly.

In case it was snowing, I wore a shirt.

As there was a bad smell, I bought a gas mask.

Bob ran down the road.

They have excellent eyesight.

Outside the cabin, the snow slowly soared down covering the garden in frost and ice. Inside, the fast flames flew round in the fireplace where they were all gathered up.

Above, the tree tops the birds were flying south for winter. Below, the squirrels were gathering their winter stash of nuts.

Behind, the wall the loud banging of bins started. Infront, the house was as quiet as a mouse.

Outside of the room, there was hard gravel and stone pathing. Inside it was a soft carpet and couch.

Outside, the class the air was thick, smoggy and unbreathable. Inside, the air was fresh and clean.
