Chapter Three!
With a sudden flash, the ground began to shake. All of the animals woke up from their sleep and were running around frantically. Apples were falling off nearby trees and leaves were being snatched in the wind’s grasp. The animals started fighting.
When the scene had cleared, there were many dead animals on the forest floor, no sign of movement. Quietly, Daz made his way back to the shed, shaking with fear. A strange breeze crept up his spine. He was sure that that night he had been sighted by Griffins.
By dawn, Daz and Freddie had left the shed and were heading on an adventure to the Low Lift Mountains. The journey took almost a whole day, it was dusk when they found themselves curling up at the bottom of a mountain range. The mountain glowed bright white in the darkness of the night. Freddie was worried that they were going to get caught by Griffins very soon.
Outside, Daz was acting brave and confident. Inside, he just wanted to go home. Slowly, Freddie unravel the map that they were given. It was a small map which was very crinkled. It changed colour in the moonlight’s gleam. Even Freddie knew that was a bad sign.
Suddenly, the horses awoke. There was a blinding flash of light coming through a gap in between two mountains. Within seconds, the horses were tangled in fishing nets. Daz stayed close to his friend, Freddie glared at Griffins trying desperately to hide the map.
Too late! Griffins laughed at Daz.” Trying to hide?” he squawked from behind his devious disguise. “ Hiding nowhere i think!” he added chewing on mouse bones. It looked as if he was hopeful, hopeful that the horses would give themselves up- let themselves die without putting up a fight.
