I want to paint

I want to paint…

I want to paint the smell of a raspberry candle fresh from the store selling like the actual fruit.

I want to paint the smell of a Venus fly trap’s sweet sugar waiting for its prey.

I want to paint the smell of a flower as beautiful as a lion.

I want to paint the banana spider that has one of the most deadly venoms in the world.

I want to paint an African honey bee one hundred more times more a powerful sting than a normal bee.

I want to paint a scarub beetle curious to find its way through the jungle.

I want to paint the taste of victory when I have won a trophy.

I want to paint the taste of fresh homemade chocolate cake with delicate vanilla sprinkles with nice swirly cream.

I want to paint the taste of fresh strawberries are straight from the farm nice red and ripe.

I want to paint people having fun at the down south beach on the pier.

I want to paint my friends playing at a party.

I want to paint a sun set in the summer when the sun is at its biggest stage.

I want to paint the sound of a war plane passing by as its fuel runs out.

I want to paint an aerodynamic train passing by London to Warrington.

I want to paint a Lamborghini with a cool spoiler and a Tesler with an electric engine.

I want to paint a tarantula snake the are actually wasps.

I want to paint…

I want to paint a tall, thick tree reaching high to the clouds,

A sweet, smooth strawberry hanging off a leaf, ready to drop as soon as it’s ripe,

The beautiful, blazing birds chirping in the leafy trees.

I want to paint the stars as gold as a penny,

A clock ticking as quiet as a mouse,

The huge trucks on the road like an elephant stampeding through the grassy plain.

I want to paint the taste an apple as juicy as fresh juice hanging off a tree,

I want to paint the sound of a chicken clucking along as it walks through the field.

I want to paint the difference between a frog croaking and a bird chirping.

I want to paint the end of this poem.

I want to paint…

I want to paint a cute, cuddly cat sleeping,

A super, shiny, silver sunset going down in the distance,

A towering, talking, tremendous tree swaying softly in the wind.

I want to paint a fantastic limo as slow as a sloth,

A cold winter’s night as freezing as an ice cube,

The crowd cheering in a football ground like a lion roaring in the wild.

I want to paint the smell of fresh, steaming hot chocolate on the counter.

I want to paint the taste of a lovely jam donuts covered in chocolate sauce and rainbow sprinkles.

I want to paint the sound of painted dogs shouting to its pack when it has caught its prey.

I want to paint the end of this poem.

I want to paint…

I want to paint a lop with enormous, excellent ears and silky, soft fur,

A marvellous magnificent magic show and an amazing, astonishing performance,

The beautiful ocean with swimming, splashing seals and a tremendous turtle paddling perfectly along the water.

I want to paint a dove flying as gracefully as a plane,

The world like a small ball in the solar system,

A bike as fast as a cheetah, its wheels as fast as a Porsche.

I want to paint the taste of really sweet, juicy, emerald grapes as ripe as bananas,

I want to pain the distance between the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere in the world,

I want to paint the sound of bells ringing for a church ceremony.

I want to paint the end of this poem.

I want to paint…

I want to paint a prowling, powerful panther zooming through the tall grass to catch his prey,

A shimmering, silent sunflower blowing in the wind,

A colossal crushing cannonball flying through the air.

I want to paint a luxurious, rapid Porsche 911 roaring through the city like a leopard,

A massive full library bustling with people like baboons chattering annoyingly,

A tiny green shoot making its way out of the ground like a frog leaping towards a fly.

I want to paint the impossibility of dolphins jumping over wooden hurdles splashing water everywhere,

I want to paint the smell of delicious, sugary donuts which came out of the oven 2 minutes ago,

I want to paint the sound of kids screaming and shouting in the playground.

I want to paint the end of this poem.

I want to paint…

I want to paint a spontaneous, slithering snake slithering around my neck,

An extraordinary, exclusive elephant roaming around digging with its tusks,

The sparkling, shiny sea with calm, curious waves.

I want to paint the sparkling, spectacular, scorching fire like a volcano erupting around me.

A tremendous, clever tree as tall as five humans.

I want to paint me at the park on the roundabout going as fast as 200 miles an hour.

I want to paint the taste of chocolate melting in my mouth on a calm, silent night in summer,

I want to paint the sound of fire sirens going past

I want to paint the smell of pepperoni pizza.

I want to paint the end of this poem.

I want to paint…

I want to paint…

I want to paint the distance from now to then,

the small and big footprints being washed away by the sea; a young child and her mother walking in the distance

a crimson strawberry nestled comfortably in a clear, glass bowl, bursting with electric flavour,

the beautiful streak of gold left behind by a shimmering, single, shooting star,

a rope of twisted knots, an old rope swing, deserted by many and solmemnly waiting for more to come and play.

I want to paint the distorted reflection of my face in a puddle, raindrops escaping from the grasp of my umbrella and drip, drip, dripping on to my watery skin,

ducklings, waddling after their mother as if she were the Pied Piper; their fluffy feathers keeping them cosy,

a hyper-lapse of a tulip, the gorgeous few petals opening in fast-forward over the days of spring, as if controlled by remote-control,

the vastness of the Milky Way, stretching on and on and on, breath-takingly beautiful and full of blinking stars,

the dappled sunlight through the canopy of trees, winking and roasting the poor soil underneath to a crisp.

I want to paint the curtain of night stealthily creeping in through the windows, casting gnarled shadows on the picture-filled walls.

a new-born calf, wobbling as it takes its first few shaky steps, its mum’s rough tongue nursing it to health,

an elegant butterfly, flitting from pansy to poppy like an energetic ballerina.

I want to paint the mesmerising memory of the dancing fire, as it curls up the stone chimney, reflecting in my eyes as I snuggle into the warmth of my parents’ hug, snow falling softly outside.

I want to paint the distance from now to then…..

By Luli Curtis

I want to paint..

I want to paint

the smell of my Grandma’s hobbitty pie, as its onion-filled contents is placed on the fractured plate,

the taste of bangers and mash: glory to my taste-buds,

the sight of autumnal leaves drifting down to the grass, like a feather,

the sound of a collared dove, singing its tiny heart out, while the sun’s head peeks over the horizon,

the feeling of pure joy, when receiving something, which has always been wanted,

the love of a mother, nursing her young: the love of her life.

I want to paint

a city, full of people, like dots rolling up and down,

a gathering of stars, like ********* in a dark, velvet curtain,

the planets, giants of the galaxy, great mounds of gas, great mounds of rock and dust,

the silhouette of a family, watching waves crash against a cliff,

a crimson poppy, dancing in the wind, swaying amongst dying weeds, strong,

an apple, perfect and untouched, lay on the bright green grass, alone and waiting,

I want to paint a snail, slithering along the sand, in danger of dying in the scorching heat.

I want to paint the curtains of the night, leaving a village in the dark, to be opened by the sun, and closed by the moon.

I want to paint an ice-cream being held by a young girl, her eyes fixed on its milk chocolate flake.

I want to paint plastic, bobbing up and down, hopelessly bottomless ocean.

I want to paint the love of the people, who are here in this world, each and every one of them unique in their own way.

I want to paint the smile on my face, as this is being read, by you….

I want to paint

I want to paint.

I want to paint,

the sound of a beautiful barn owl howling in the dark, silent night,

the  warmth of mummy’s and daddy’s hugs,

the cheers of the crowd when you score the winning penalty at the World Cup,

a crisp packet flying in the wind, on the streets of London,

the sound of a luxurious Lamborghini roaring down the motorway as fast as a bullet.

I want to paint,

the impossibility of being able to fly and go anywhere you wanted,

the silence of the pitch black night sky,

the sound of children on the playground, running round like monkeys,

the warmth of a blazing fire sparkling in the sky like stars,

the feeling of when you win your first ever formula 1 race.

I want to paint,

the smell of, hot cooked chips smoking in to the air.

I want to paint me and my friends having fun at the park.

I want to paint me and my family having a family dinner happily.

I want to paint this beautiful earth.
