The Anywhere Emporium

Prologue

Have you ever seen a shop that nobody notices? Well this is a tale of no ordinary emporium. It’s bricks were snow white and as smooth as cream, the windows coated with a thick layer of stone grey dust making the inside display barely visible, then a bronze gate patterned with twists and curls like a coiled snake glittering in the sunlight. The ordinary viewed it as a regular building that was once a shop now abandoned.

At Times it was a danger with terracotta tiles falling from above spilling the cracked gutter’s sludge upon unsuspecting victims, sometimes even in the mouth!

Through the window you could see stacks of famous literature such as;Oliver Twist,Hamlet,The Nowhere Emporium and many more.Through one day the gate opened.

Chapter 1

A boy named Rahj the ll was strolling along the street to deliver some groceries to his father’s newspaper shop,(first buy is 25% of) which had a very confusing route. He stopped dead in his tracks while he gazed into the infinite void of book shelves, his worst nightmare.

Even though he hates reading and the only time he enjoyed it was when he counts his pocket money,he stepped in.Without hesitation he forced himself walk over to the endless pages of w..w..wr…writing!He groaned at his nagging curiosity as a dusty, old book managed to fall into his hands,”Dog on a log!Isn’t that just Cat in a Hat ,I’ll have to revisit this.”Rhaj said just before being disgusted with himself after being interested in a crummy, old book.He sat down at one of the leather seats paired with a spruce table coated with a shiny layer of gloss reflecting light like a mirror but covered with tea stains.Myriads of oak ladders littered across the bookshelves like paint splatters.

Suddenly, something caught his eye, through the clouds of grey hes saw a giant book open in the spotlight.

Through the door.

Go through the crimson door,

you’ll be hit by a wall of love as a pair of lips

Come crashing onto yours.

Go through the autumn door,

maybe you can feel the excitement while riding a

rollercoaster that fuels you with enthusiasm.

Go through the lemon door,

and enter a world of happiness as you gaze upon the

wonderous carnival that greets you in kindly.

Go through the parsley door,

greed will stalk you as your mind contemplates his

collection of jewels and gold.

Go through the cobalt door,

rain will come and greet you with a myriad of lighting

Giving you a deep sadness.

Go through the grape door,

creativity shall be bestowed upon you with a magical

realm of dragons and giants.

Go through the rose door,

maybe you will find a kindness in your heart

to help many people in need.

Go through the coal door,

then you can face a corrupted monster purely

built out of rage.

Chapter 3

Petrified, the rabbits stared at the beetle, could this really be, thought Papkun, is this the end?The machine edged closer as if it was sentient. They were paralysed waiting for death to take their soul.Suddenly, there was a whooping sound. ”Whoopa whoopa!” In seconds, a group of rabbits appeared; their fur was beige and coated in golden sand, they wore ragged cloth around their heads and waist holding spears with tips of bone, some equipped with nets made of stone and twine. “CHARGE!” yelled a plump, fuzzy rabbit wearing a crown composed of bone and topaz. Papkun expected this to be the chieftain but this thought was soon drowned due to the yells of noble warriors ramming into the beetle trying to flip it over like a cow, while others tried to tie vines around the beast’s legs, only to be sliced by the razors attached to the limbs.

Despite their efforts the beetle charged at the kittens with a ferocious speed. ”RUN!” Papkun shouted. The rabbits ran and ran until they started to hear a grinding sound coming from the machine, this was their chance, they took a sudden turn but the beetle couldn’t make it and tipped over leaving a cloud of dust. Coughing, they sprinted towards the Marshlands checking back to see a needle flying at the with a note attached to it.Pary read it aloud

“Be more careful out here so use this. It’s an arrow you control by whistling, it can pierce anything except from iron. It’s name is Sagitta.

Best of luck from the mage of Sunray Desert.”

Though they just picked it up and headed to the Marshlands taking no notice. When they arrived at the border of shrubs, Papkun and the rest easily crossed although there was mud everywhere. When they had found a cabin; it was made out of mangrove planks and coated with a thick layer of dust, the house’s curtains were torn and stained with mud. They sat down and nibbled on a slice of cornbread with a handful (or pawful) of scarlet red raspberries with a side of roast radishes ignoring the fact that it might belong to someone else.

“Wait, didn’t we receive a needle?” questioned Pary.

“Oh yeah I forgot about that.” realised Papkun. They reread it,paying attention to every detail, gazing at the shiny copper needle as if it were a god.The rabbits stared at it

Papkun whistled and surprisingly it worked circling the room. ”Be careful Papkun!” yelled Pary. ”You could take someones eye out!”

“I thought that’s what your supposed to do with this.” joked Papkun, accidentally dropping the needle to the floor. Picking it up,he put it in a wooden box incase he accidently whistled during his sleep then realising it could breakout. Pary laid out her tunic as they huddled together and snoozed off.

They got up in a daze thinking it was all a dream until their eyes met with Segitta.Papkun gave a whistle and just as he remembered it floated in the waiting for his next command.

“Whats for breakfast father?”said Paz still half asleep, she woke up in a start,”Huh uhhh I’m starving.”they were all starving.Peso managed to crawl into their stash of food but Pary soon managed to grab him before he ate everything. While Peso sat squealing in hunger she fetched them something to eat.It wasn’t much only a slice of cornbread and truffle. ”Eeww!” yelled Peso in disgust, he was never a fan of mushrooms but especially not with truffle. When they finished they set off through the Marshland avoiding sudden frogs jumping out at them.Eventually, the trio of rabbits started to see icy puddles of mud and a series of hills, they were getting near Pine Warren but something wasn’t right there was a patch of dark grey on the snow then they realised it was the Gorm….

In the room of…

In the room of storms,

I watched clouds throw lightning.

In the room of abstract,

I painted a Picasso.

In the room of mystery,

a pyramid stared at me.

In the room of anything’

It was like a giant warehouse of everything.

In the room of reflection,

I sat and cried.

In the room of pollution,

The pungent power of plastic overwhelmed me.

In the room of noise,

I tip-toed as quietly as a mouse.

In the room of greenery,

I breathed the beautiful air.

In the room of the fountain,

There was only the sloshing of water.

In the room of reptiles,

I gazed at snakes and lizards.

I want to paint

I want to paint-

the whispering woods, trees savagely shaking throughout the sky,

the pungent pine sap seeping through the shrubs as it travels deep into ditches,

sparrows soaring through the swirling sky above towering treetops,

and a Greylag goose gulping down fish as the sun shines bright above an apple orchard spreading across the whispering woods.

I want to paint-

the taxis passing by like giant black beetles travelling through the streets,

the black and white crossings like a zebras back,

a cacophony of muffled voices as loud as a swarm of bees

and towering skyscrapers like giant mountains reaching towards the sky.

I want to paint the sound of screeching whistles blinding all ears.

I want to paint the smell of daffodils floating through the air across countless meadows.

I want to paint the taste of golden honey slowly seeping down a cauldron.

I want to paint the memory of Libey the cat lazily sitting in the warm sunlight.

I want to paint the impossibility of space and its infinite darkness.

I want to paint the end of this poem.
