The Vintage Emporium Chapter 4 By Tessa

Ignoring the repetitious voice, Keisha stood where the door should’ve been standing. There was nothing, just a little gap with a ladder going all the way down. Soil covered the side and the ladder steps. Curiously, she peered down the gap and at the bottom she could see a rectangular shape that looked like a door, she had realized that it was deserted.

Without thinking, Keisha climbed the ladder all the way down. She expected her footsteps to echo but luckily the didn’t. Keisha had a mini panic attack thinking that the strange creature would follow her down the gloomy place but Keisha was very far down.

Suddenly, Keisha reached the end of the ladder and saw the door. A sigh of relief flew out of her body.  Her heart was beating and her head was hurting. Immediately, she shot through door and got into the emporium and sat down. She tried to clear everything that had happened in her head.

Secretly, she walked back to the shops entrance trying not to be noticed. Unfortunately, Stewart noticed Keisha and stared at her. “I see you have come back to the shop.” Did you see what you wanted?” Keisha shrugged her shoulders with no reply.

“So you see, the past cannot be undone and you will not always get what you expect.””There is always another time.” explained Stewart.

“Come back another day Keisha.” He said whilst holding the door.

Keisha stepped out of the shop, wanting to know more about the mysterious emporium. She heard a small bang and turned around. Silence. There was nothing, no emporium, no anything. A gust of wind flew past her making her shiver  as if something mysterious happened like in horror movies.

She headed back home, sighing. Maybe its gone, for good she said to herself. What Keisha didn’t know was that a black cat with red glowing eyes shining as fluorescent as a flower was following her back home…

The Vintage Emporium by Tessa

Prologue

There is a place downtown where no one ever goes. People forbid themselves to enter. That place is the Vintage Emporium. It sits in between a broken wall which had been destroyed.

To enter you had to pay a price. You could see lamps flickering through the stained glass window which made civilians worried. Nobody entered, It seemed to dismal to come in. Through the window dolls seemed to look like they were waving even though they weren’t. Suddenly Keisha fell in shock…

Chapter 1

Keisha was always very inquisitive. Her mother had told her that if she follows  someone just because they are suspicious would lead herself to trouble. One warm afternoon, Keisha walked down shoe road but then stumbled upon The Vintage Emporium.

Dust seemed to take place in the building, it was everywhere. There were small thuds coming from the ceiling as if someone was living up there. Red velvet curtains shimmered in the warm toned light. Keisha glanced at the books that laid on a dilapidated bookshelf. An aroma of freshly brewed tea flowed through the emporium. She walked through the dimly lit place uncomfortably since it felt like something or someone was watching her.

Something aught Keisha’s eye, it was a golden lectern decorated in precious jewels that glimmered in the light. On top sat a leather covered book. It was odd that just one single book was there. Keisha opened the book, it seemed like the words created pictures in her disorientated mind. “Hello there!” spoke a calm voice. “Would you like to take a look around?” Suddenly, Keisha fell in shock.

Slowly, Keisha got on her feet and made her way to the lectern.

“Excuse me but please do not look through that book.” muttered Stewart the Owner of the emporium.

“Oh I’m extremely sorry!” replied Keisha whilst gazing at all the wonderful, odd objects.

“No problem, just remember, do NOT touch that book at all.” Declared Stewart, staring at Keisha viciously.

A few moments later, Stewart vanished into thin air whilst his red cape wrapped around him, leaving Keisha alone. She got tempted to go to the book again but she remembered the words of Stewart. Keisha peeked round the velvet curtains just to see if anyone was there. Instead she saw a hallway with tons of weird doors.

Walking back to the book, Keisha flicked through the coffee colored pages. She saw an old cottage and round trees with ponds that contained goldfish, the images seemed to be alive.

Suddenly, she picked up a pen that was decorated with fake flowers. Keisha drew old cottages in a line that were surrounded by round trees with a purple waterfall falling from a rocky hill and then she drew something that was very important to her.

Then the book clenched on her hands and dragged her through the gloomy hallway. After a few moments, she stood upon a door. It looked like it had just appeared…

Keisha entered the door, a ray of sunlight shone into her eyes making her a bit blind. There stood a line of old wooden cottages. Round shaped trees surrounded the entrances. A purple waterfall fell from a rocky hill filling all the narrow spaces, turning them to puddles. It was quite confusing because it looked exactly like the drawing she made in Stewart’s book. A small stone path appeared, and without thinking she followed the path.

Open the door, See what you find by Tessa

Go and open the yellow door,

maybe you’ll see

A jar of honey pouring onto a pancake

like a sloth walking in the jungle.

A seed turning into a buttercup in the period of spring.

A banana placed perfectly on a piece of delicious

warm toast.

Go and open the brown door,

maybe you’ll see

a brownie as warm as a fire

A crumpled cookie  dipped in hot coffee

A hazelnut falling from a plant.

Go and open the orange door,

maybe you’ll see

10 bottles of lucozade fizzing up and turning into a volcano

A crunchy carrot falling from the oak tree

A can of fanta  pouring into a glass calmly like a cat

walking quietly.

Go and open the blue door,

maybe you’ll see

a bluebell blooming like a door being

opened slowly,

A blue bird tap dancing

a blueberry squeezed into fresh delicious juice

Go and open the green door,

maybe you’ll see

a mint freshening up the air

mouthwash used as an air mist

or even a frog eating an Uncle

Joe’s mint ball.

Room of Animals.

I swam into the room of Fish,

and saw them swimming as fast as a

human can chew a piece of apple pie.

I ran into the room of gold Gorillas,

where the plants talked and

small monkeys lived in banana peel.

I stood in the room of slow Sloths,

and saw them climb up peculiar tree

wanting to have their beauty sleep.

I swung into the room of phenomenal Pandas,

where they eat sweet bamboo sticks

freshly from the ground.

I jumped into the room of jolly Kangaroos,

where they talked in an Australian accent and

ate juicy strawberries grown with care.

I crawled into the room of bears,

and saw a cub eating out of

honey pot made they made from clay.

The Petunia by Tessa

The Petunia

Episode 1

Joshua clenched his fists on the railing, his face going pale like he is wanting to vomit. His sister Lucy who was enjoying every moment, didn’t feel scared at all since she is very brave. They had both left the city just about a week ago,but they should’ve been passing over the lowlands but the storm had ruined their route. In the distance, Joshua saw something flying swiftly through the misty clouds. He then had seen the figure  with some wings and breathing fluorescent purple fire, Joshua had realised it was a dragonfruit dragon. Captain Sheila clenched the tiller to one side and drove the engines as hard as she could on the petunia. At that moment the dragons were invisible. Thunder crackled, electricity bolted. Joshua stared at Lucy who was looking into the telescopian but it showed nothing because the gloomy clouds covered the view. Captain Sheila told them to hang on tight since they were about to land. A few minutes later the petunia dipped below the clouds swiftly as air left the balloons and the engines stopped. Joshua and Lucy stared up, looking for the dragon’s but they were nowhere to be seen.

Episode 2

Joshua glanced in shock as the ground rushed up to meet them. They were hovering a bit of the ground to what looked like a destroyed, old town. In the distance fallen trees lay on the ground with moss covering every bit of it. Broken pieces of wood sat on the grass with soil blending in with it all. Minutes later Joshua and Lucy found themselves all alone since Captain Sheila and the rest of the crew went searching for tools to mend the broken balloon. Joshua felt petrified, thinking the dragons would find them. That moment they heard something.

Episode 3

Something unknown was crawling up on the side of the petunia’s ships wooden hull. Joshua hid behind the tiller as Lucy ran to see what was happening through the window. Lucy could see something crawling up the side of the ship. It was very small and had emerald green eye. It paused and look up at her. Turns out it was a hurt, baby dragon. Lucy pulled the dragons paw onto the deck. The dragon was a shivering with coldness. Joshua dashed off to get a comfy and warm blanket.

Episode 4

Many hours later, the crew returned. They fixed the petunias air balloon and were sailing through the night sky, which was dark as midnight and gloomy, they only had the moonlight to guide them. Lucy found a room for the baby dragon to sleep in. Joshua stood on the deck whilst tears rolled down his face, thinking when he would get back home. Lucy went to Joshua to comfort him and make him feel happy. At that moment they heard something crawl up from the side of the ship. Lucy grabbed Joshua’s hand and pulled him down. All alone they waited whilst their heart was beating rapidly. Joshua hoped it wasn’t the baby dragons mother. Peering over the edge Lucy could see a strange shape that was clinging to the wooden hull. Joshua was filled with fear. Suddenly, Captain Sheila appeared and told them it was just the landing ship which is a tiny flying craft that they use if they don’t want to dock the whole ship. Captain Sheila told them to go to bed. 20 minutes later they were both asleep whilst the petunia drifted through the sky.
