A melting heart – by Thomas w

 

What are loud? Mr Brown’s foot samping , a wolf howling in the moonlight and a beeping in the dead of night .

What are quiet? A woodpecker pecking at bark , my dog snoring and waves swooshing at sea. 

 

What are warm? The Spanish sun beaming on my skin , bacon sizzling on the grill and a summer’s day on june the 2nd .

What are cold? A snowman’s heart melting away from the sight of a daisy , snowflakes gliding from the grey sky and my feet entering the cold pool . 

 

What are annoying? The clock ticking second by second, a baby crying for food and long fingernails scraping down on a chalkboard.

What are peaceful? The sun appearing at sunrise, a leaf falling from a tree and Year 6 doing their SATs.

What is cold?

What is cold ? An ice pop on a summer morning and a nice cup of water.

 

What is hot ? A large cup of hot chocolate and a nice cup of tea next to a fire pit.

 

What is money? Swapping different types of food, coins jingling in my pocket and paying for sweets at the shop.

 

What is loud? Thunder clouds,  heavy rain and heavy snow. 

I have never with Thomas

I have never eaten a very large hairy spider, but I have gobbled a small millipede in a lolly in town at Lancaster.

I have never eaten Sushi, but I have eaten KFC on my bed while watching Netflix.

I have never swam in the Pacific ocean while running/swimming away from the Meg, but I have caught a fish.

I have never met Tommyinit in Minecraft, but I have seen him in a YouTube video.

I have never eaten slimy noodles in China, but I have eaten them at my home.

I have never eaten an octopus at Lidl on a Giraffe, but I have eaten shrimps.

I have never stole a brand new apple watch, but my stepsister has stole a 4-inch plank of wood – it was returned- when she was very young.

I have never ran a marathon, but I have ran in sports day.

Never say never…..

I’ve never painted  a giraffe

but I have painted a dog eating fresh green grass on the ground at Astbury Mere. 

 

I’ve never driven a roaring racing car

but I have been on a slow go-kart around Meadow Avenue. 

 

I’ve never travelled in a aeroplane up in the blue sky

But I have swam in the salty blue sea in Anglesey.

 

I’ve never played football with Kevin De Bruyne

But I have been a mascot for Congleton Town FC.

 

I’ve never humbly served the Queen

But I have made my Mum a cup of tea.

 

I’ve never played Call of Duty on my Playstation

But I have played Fortnite with my friends.

 

I’ve never been to Nou Kamp, Barcelona’s stadium

But I have been to the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.

 

I’ve never slept under the shining stars

But I have slept at my best friend’s house.

 

I’ve never been to Hamley’s toy store in London

But I have been to Halford’s in Congleton.

 

I’ve never worn reading glasses on my little nose

But I have worn goggles while swimming in the pool.

 

I’ve never spoke in Chinese

But I have spoken some French.

 

I’ve never said I never will

But I have said I will try.

I have never seen a giant man eating T-rex

,But I have seen my mom when shes angry

 

I have never eaten a sharks flesh 

,but I have eaten cod

 

I have never beaten Ruben in a race 

,But I have beaten my sister in one

 

I have never heard a tiger roar

,but I have heard a furry feline cat meow

 

I have never seen a gorilla pounce on someone

,but I have seen a furry feline cat pounce on catherine (my sister)

 

I have never cooked a boiled egg

,But I have cooked a cake

 

I have never eaten frogs legs.

I have never eaten ice cream whilst hanging upside down,

but I have eaten ice cream the right way up.

I have never ridden a giant banana over the Nile,

but I have ridden my bike over a bridge.

I have never eaten frogs legs,

but I have eaten lots of nice things.

I have never wrote an award winning novel,

but I have wrote the end of this poem.

Go and open the door

Go and open the crimson door.

Maybe, you’ll find a field full of flaming poppies.

 

Go and open the purple door.

Maybe, you’ll find some violent presents dancing on the floor.

 

Go and open the pink door.

Maybe, you’ll find a bouquet of beautiful roses.

 

Go and open the indigo door.

Maybe, you’ll find the sea glistening in the evening sun.

 

Go and open the orange and yellow door.

Maybe, you’ll find a glorious sunset flying high in the sky.

 

Go and open the rainbow door.

Maybe, you’ll find a whole room full of coloured rain.

 

Go and open the green door.

Maybe, you’ll see fields full of aloe vera.

The room of endless mirrors

In the room of endless mirrors, you saw yourself short, you saw yourself tall, you saw yourself fat, you saw yourself thin.

One mirror shows yourself younger. Another shows yourself older.

One mirror shows you in the 1980s. Another shows you in the 1940s.

One mirror shows you as a superhero. Another shows you as a supervillain.

One mirror shows you different haircuts. Another shows you different faces.

One mirror shows you as a multi-millionaire. Another shows you as really poor.

One mirror shows you as an ape. Another shows you as a tiny ant.

One mirror shows you as a completely beautiful person. Another shows you at your worst.

I want to paint by Thomas.

I want to paint the sweet smell of cotton candy at the fabulous fun fair. I want to paint the marvellous memory of things being back to normal before lockdown. I want to paint the terrific taste of salty french fries at McDonald’s.
