Chapter 3
As Penny stretched out of bed she realised the ship was empty. There was a letter on the dining room table that read, “Dear Penny, myself and Jake have gone hunting for food and water. Also, can you go searching for firewood? It is freezing. Yours Dearest Captain.”
Quickly she jumped in the shower and got dressed and set off to the nearest forest and started to chop up small logs.
As she was awkwardly trying to figure out how to grip the axe, she heard the stomp and growls of a massive creature. Penny looked up to massive, yellow and disgusting teeth on a black fury face. In that moment she realised it was the creature from last night.
“Wait, I want to help you, you are in terrible danger.” The monster spoke in a deep voice.
“Y…You can talk, h…how,” Penny said, shivering in fear.
“It doesn’t matter, you must follow me,” the creature said a bit softer.
Penny decided to follow it since she was bored and was still trying to make out what it was. Finally, they reached a sort of cave looking thing, they stepped inside but the first thing that caught her eye was Jake and the Captain sitting in a corner. She sprinted towards them smiling with relief. As she ran over Jake shouted “they gave me this ice crystal and told us this was the only way we could defeat the half fire half man dragon that is going to attack,” he finished gasping for air.
They got up and sprinted back to the ship but as they ran Jake slipped and dislocated his ankle. Fortunately, the captain went to med school for a year and quickly snapped his ankle back into place. The captain and Penny had to carry him all the way back the the ship.
As they ran through the ships’ door the captain screamed at the top of his lungs “Start the ship there’s danger coming and we need medical attention immediately. The engines roared as they lifted into the sky.
But it was too late!
