The rainy week

Elizabeth was confused. The walls were all bricked. She looked up. There were cracks in the roof, huge cracks. Elizabeth walked back up the creaky stairs. She slid her hand up the wall and all the concrete fell down. He went up the stairs and shut the door. She put the lock back on then pushed the plant back.

She had never realized the absolute awful paint job and why she hadn’t seen it before. She moved the lock into the plant so it couldn’t be seen, but as she was doing that, she heard something behind her, like a voice.

“Well, well, well,” hissed Mrs Mayfield. “What do we have here?”.

Elizabeth gulped, “Well, uh- um- I-,”

Mrs Mayfield sighed. “ Don’t give me all this and that, what did you see down there?”

“Uh- sorry- Nothing, I swear,” muttered Elizabeth

“I know you saw it, you don’t need to pretend,” cunned Mrs Mayfield. “I don’t mind, just don’t tell ANYONE!!”

“Why? Why is it there? Why did you lie? Why did you keep it all a secret? What, even. Is. it.?” cried Elizabeth.

“Look, I can’t tell you, but I beg you, please, please, PLEASE, do not tell anyone,” sighed Mrs Mayfield.

“Well, what’s in it for me, how do I not tell people that you are LITERALLY, turning back time.,” groaned Elizabeth.

“Fine, I will cook you your favorite dinner, everyday, for a week,” suggested Mrs Mayfield.

“A month,”

“Fine, okay 1 month it is, but don’t tell anyone,” said Mrs Mayfield. “ I wish I could tell you why, I really do, but I- I- just can’t,”.

That same night, Elizabeth couldn’t get to sleep. She couldn’t understand why she was turning back time. How old is she? Why was the clock so old? The little wooden panels with cracks in between them. Elizabeth put on her dressing gown and slid her slippers on. She went downstairs to get some

water. She looked at the door and walked over.  She opened the creaky door. It squeaked louder than a mouse. The dust fell from the top of the door. She started coughing and it went into her eyes. She rubbed her eyes, cleared her throat and Elizabeth started walking down the old wooden stairs.

She held onto the rail. The dusty, dirty, disgusting stairs thudded as Elizabeth took each step down the stairs. She wanted to see the clock again. It was bigger than the actual house. But the house didn’t have an extra side to it.  The clock was wooden. She looked up and the numbers were a gleaming, glowing, gold.  The hands ticked and ticked round. It was now 00:00. The clocks suddenly turned rapidly round.  They kept turning and turning. Elizabeth became startled and jumped back by the sudden cause. She heard the stairs beginning to creak.

Chapter 3

The half-term was starting. The sun had started to come out after Mrs Mayfield had stopped turning back time. It was a nice day so they went to the closeby beach. The seagulls were squawking  and the sun was beaming.

The birds flew through the sky. The water sang beautifully, and the noise of the little children running round. Elizabeth was lying down on the towel while Mrs Mayfield got ice cream for the both of them. After Elizabeth and Mrs Mayfield Elizabeth went into the water.  As both of them got back, Mrs Mayfield cooked Elizabeth her favourite meal. That night Elizabeth went to bed. She fell asleep straight away whilst she was stroking Ann.

In the morning the birds tweeted and sang. Mrs Mayfield had gone to work since she only took the day off yesterday. Elizabeth went outside to play with her friends. They played hopscotch, jump rope, tig, until they all got hungry and went home. Elizabeth had the leftovers of the chicken noodles from yesterday. She went back outside to see if anyone was still there, only her friend Penelope.

“Why are you still outside?” Elizabeth asked politely.

“My mum isn’t in and we don’t have any food,” Penelope said.

“Come to my house,” offered Elizabeth.

“Really? Thank you so much,” Penelope said.

Elizabeth gave her some food and they both sat down on the settee. One thing Elizabeth was scared about was that Penelope would find the secret.

She wasn’t that clever after all, but the wall and the paint had cracked from the door opening. Elizabeth said they should both play outside just to be safe.

That same night Elizabeth was relieved because Penelope had gone home early because her mum came home earlier. Mrs Mayfield and Mrs Wheeler (Penelope’s mum) work at the same place so they both came home at the

same time. When Mrs Mayfield went upstairs to have a shower and get changed, Elizabeth realized the plant had been moved and the door had been open. She didn’t want to believe it, her worst fear came true… When Mrs Mayfield came out of the shower. Elizabeth told her everything. Mrs Mayfiel told her not to worry. And that it will get sorted, but it wasn’t alright for me.

The secret was out, and because of Elizabeth. She had never felt so guilty. The worst part was, Peneleope has the biggest gob in the entire school. She would not hesitate to tell anyone. The secret she was trusted to keep had just been spilled. On the bright side, Penelope might have not known what it was and what it was used for.

The Rare Giants

Do you know the forbidden forest giants are becoming extinct and now classified as “The Rare Giants” ??

As the new “Rare Giants” are being killed by the Centaur Giants, there are fewer and fewer by the day. Right now, as you are reading this, there are probably only about 30 left in the world! The centaurs are taking their food so they are becoming unrecognizable. The only thing that doesn’t change is their eyes, no matter what, they always will have yellow eyes like no other giant.

However, the female giants have bright pink eyes so you can’t miss them. They are also the only giants who have bright pink eyes. Both of the giants smell like mint, always mint, never anything else. They leave ginormous  footprints and you can recognize the female footprint is smaller and females only have 4 toes so you can tell. Females usually carry their child around with them so if you spot them make sure to stop and say Hi!

The rare giants live in the forbidden forests with some of the other land giants.

The forbidden forest is practically fit for giants as there are giant trees, rivers and lakes etc. The sun is always beaming and it rarely ever rains over there. It is very hot so that’s why there are many rivers and lakes in the forest. The trees give them a lot of shade but for the extra tall giants, it isn’t that helpful.

The rare giants eat mint, a lot of it, hence why they smell like mint. They also eat bugs and they eat birds, which lasts them the whole day. Not all giants do eat birds but the rare giants do. The leaves on the trees are really good for them.

as they have oxygen in them. They usually just bend down and use the lake water for a drink.

The most special thing about the rare giants is that they can read minds, so when you have an intention of hurting them they always run away because they know what is happening but if you are there to cause no harm then they will not run they will make sure to always help you if you need to be somewhere.

The rainy week

Elizabeth Olsen wasn’t enjoying her stay. She wanted to go back  to the city where all the traffic, busy roads and when the big building lights would never turn off. Life in Mrs Mayfield’s house was boring for Eizabeth. When she was at home she was never bored, she was always doing something fun. Elizabeth doesn’t have anything to do in her new house. Mrs Mayfield was always working, and weekends were the worst since she had nothing to do all day. She couldn’t play outside because for the past two weeks it had been never-ending rain. At least she had Ann her wonderful pet dog to keep her company.

When Elizabeth wakes up she normally eats breakfast, has a shower, then gets ready for school and leaves and by the time Mrs Mayfield is leaving Elizabeth is just leaving for school…. But today was a weekend. Weekends were not that bad because Elizabeth would just go and play outside with her friends, but it was raining. So she was extra bored. Ann was there to keep her company but they just played fetch in Elizabeth’s room. Since Mrs Mayfield cooked the day before Elizabeth got herself a quick bite to eat.

It was 6:25pm Elizabeth was eating on the dining table waiting for Mrs Mayfield when something caught her eye, she had never seen it before. She had noticed that behind the plant here was a lock that looked like it had been hanging from thin air. She went over as Mrs Mayfield got home and started to unlock the door. Elizabeth was so curious she didn’t even hear Mrs Mayfield coming home. Elizabeth had moved the plant and realized there was a secret door, it was painted white and there was paint all over it. She pushed it, but it was locked. The paint cracked, just as it fell Mrs Mayfield saw her. “STOP!” yelled Mrs Mayfield. This is the first time Elizabeth heard her yell. “Don’t go near that door, don’t touch it, don’t try and unlock it… and if I catch you, there will be DIRE consequences,” muttered Mrs Mayfield. Elizabeth upped and nodded.

It was the next day and when Eizabeth had woken up Ann jumped on top of her and started licking her face. When Elizabeth got up, she realized Mrs Mayfield had left for work. She came down and poured herself some cereal. After she had finished, she went back to the door. It was locked but remembered when her mother used a bobby pin to pick lock a door. Elizabeth ran upstairs, Ann tracing behind her and grabbed a bobby pin. She bent it and started picking at the lock. She heard a click. It was done, it was unlocked. The door creaked open. She walked down the stairs “Hello?” her voice echoed. “Is anyone here?”. She found a lightswitch and flicked it on. She soon heard a loud ticking sound. She looked up and there was a huge clock and a little control panel next to it. It showed a small normal clock next to it where you could move the hands. She moved the minutes so the clock was changed to half an hour ago. She heard something from the kitchen and went to check what it was. She saw herself. When she was making her breakfast, that exact time. She had figured it out. It turned back time. That’s why every school day felt the same. Why it has been raining for the last week. Why the weekends felt so repetitive. Mrs Mayfield was turning back time. But why?

Dear Mam.

Dear Mam,

Thank you for the hot tart, it kept me right warm on the journey, as well as the blanket. The train was well cold and there were a lot of other people like me on the train. When I got out of the train, loads of people were standing outside waiting for people to come out. I spotted  Aunt Mary and cousin Ivy quickly. On the way to their house Ivy was telling me about all the landmarks in Shepreth. We pulled into a street called Rowling street but it was nothing like Colony street.

The House was really big. Like HUGE. Aunt Ivy cooked me a reet nice meal. I can tell that she is your sister but nothing beats your cooking.  The room is really big. Like bigger than our whole house, and that is just my room. I have my own bathroom. The day after they took me shopping and let me get clothes and shoes.

They have 2 cats. I have my own cat. I named it Willow. I wish you were here to see it. I have my own wardrobe for my clothes and I can walk inside of it!

The village is really nice. There are a lot of stalls and shops. I was well impressed with all of the shops. Don’t worry, I brought my gas mask just in case. Aunt Mary bought me a red ribbon to match my outfit and she put it in my hair, I looked right good.

The school is brilliant. The people there are so nice and welcoming. I have made so many friends and the food is so nice. I don’t like the teachers because when you talk they are mean and they shout at you right loud.

I wish you were here and I hope you are all okay and doing well, love you to the moon and back.

My secret.

My secret is made from-

the stream of sorrow,

the screams of a child,

the gossip of a teenager,

the whispers of an angel,

the feeling  of guilt surrounding me.

I found my secret-

on the tip of a guilty tongue,

trapped inside an egg shell waiting to crack,

lost inside a tear,

in the clouds, far out of reach.

My secret can-

make love like Romeo and Juliet fade away,

make pinky promises become broken,

make loneliness become social,

break hearts of hundreds.

If i lost my secret,

even the poppies on the war field will stop growing.

– || The Stream of Dreams || –

In the stream of dreams, the sparkling river flowed flawlessly as the boat was screaming with glee. The ocean swayed joyfully below the cotton white clouds. The sun beamed against the boat as the boat got close to land. The fish swam gracefully whilst the rocks sat silent and calm. The white sand stopped the little boat and a dash of wind suddenly passed which made the palm trees wave happily. The coconuts fell from the tree and came rolling down peacefully as if they wanted to say hello. The boat was pulled onto shore as the wind whistled lightly.

Chapter 4

They all had fun until. They heard a smash from upstairs. They heard light footsteps. They switched off the lights and everyone stayed quiet. There was still a dog. One of them stood there with a sear in their hand and a dead cat in the other.  The dog said “Get back to Doghaven or you’ll be next. Merope stands.
“Accepted,” Merope replied. Pandora and her mother looked at her. Queen Clawson’s jaw dropped to the floor. They turned the lights back on. The dog demanded them to come wtht them but Merope said she wouldn’t do it if they did that. Queen Clawdon let them borrow her car. They went and had made sure they didn’t get into trouble.
When they entered Doghaven they saw. They saw where they were being held captive. Merope smirked. They saw the bars in pieces after she had cut it. There were still 3. 3 more dogs. Slaughtered. All they saw when they were walking were dead dogs. All the ones they had slaughtered. The king wasn’t dead. Oh boy was he dead. He was still sitting on his throne. Scare Bear is on the side with stuffing everywhere. Merope has her sword. He walks up to The king. She puts up her sword and puts the King rickishades it to Her Leg. Pandora is on the other side. Meropes leg is cut. Merope passes the sword to Pandora sneakily whilst the king is giving a speech. Pandora throws the sword. Shee runs up to get the sword, checks his pulse, runs out and kills the rest. One they’re all dead. They walked out.
Pandora and Merope walk out. Merope walks out with a limp, clutching her sword. They were the chosen. They get in the boat and go. One they get back to Clawdon, they get in the car and drive. When they get home. Their mother gasps. She is in shock of Meropes leg. Merope and Pandora look at eachother and chuckle.

They go inside and Meropes mother cleans People’s leg and puts a bandage around whilst their grandma puts a cast around Pandoras broken arm as she eats some cereal. Pandora and Merope make jokes about the battle. Merope is laughing while her mother is shouting at her to stay still. “Oh and mum, you know that backpack, its magical”

Chapter 3

When they woke up they ate some food. They ate the food the lady gave them. They had never felt so good in their lives. The food was an egg roll with bacon and beans. They sat there for a bit whilst Pandora explored more of the Amusement park  and Merope figured a way to get out without being caught. Merope came up with a pla. They shut off the lights and start walking. Merope picks up her blue backpack. It was very heavy. Even heavier than her. They carried on walking and Merope shoved the backpack on her back.
All of a sudden three dogs came in front of them. As Merope and Pandora laughed and then looked up. They weren’t laughing anymore. They tried to run back but there were guards all around them. Merope realises that she has her backpack on. They got shoved in the cart
They were taken to a room with walls but one wall was bars. They didn’t even have a bed. There were some boxes next to them. One of them was empty so Merope shoved her backpack into it. They see a bunch of guards walking past. Pandora had fallen asleep just as Merope had seen what she thought was the king. She quickly pretended she was asleep. She peeked as she saw the king look at them.
