The haunting of Dursley cottage – Ryan SWW
There was no one else for the job. Sheriff Jimmy stood tall and pale, with dark hair and eyes, time had taken it’s toll on him. He’s dealt with banshees, poltergeists, wraiths and haunted objects but nothing would prepare him for Dursley Cottage.
Dusk snuck into the cottage as Jimmy arrived. Trees tried to break into the house, as at the front of the building, grass overthrew the Cottage. Windows smashed by branches of the remains of the trees. Colossal spider webs hung from the curtains. Tiles from the roof lay broken on the ground. Jimmy walked through the front door, inside spiders hung from the ceiling and crawled up the withered staircase, stag heads hung on the walls and paintings of the people who lived there before followed him. The smell of rotting flesh crawled deep inside his nose. He heard a rustling in the kitchen. He thought to himself, “What was that sound?”. Jimmy sneaked in the kitchen scared of what may be hiding there, he peaked inside. A wave of relief consumed him, it was just a robin that got lost. He helped it get back to its nest, though he realized that did not stop the noise.
Two bronze pans hovered above him bashing together. Jimmy ran upstairs. He was breathing heavily, trying to calm himself down. A figure of pure shadows appeared before him, it slowly got bigger and bigger until it was as tall as him. It screamed “ALL THAT COME IN THIS HOUSE NEVER SEE DAYLIGHT AGAIN!”. Jimmy screamed, pulled out his torch, though as soon as he turned it on, the figure was gone.
Jimmy peaked out of the window, it was almost sun down. He went down stairs to run out the door but the door was locked. Jimmy tried to bash it down but it was to late… the same figure appeared on the wall. Jimmy was terrified, he pulled out his flashlight but it was too late.
