The Deep Blue Sea
You are as blue as a clear summer sky.
You are as wet as ferocious April showers.
You are as cold as an Artic iceberg.
You are as dark as a midnight shadow.
You are as fun as the rides at a funfair.
You are as lively as a child on Christmas Day.
You are as loud as a giant ship’s horn.
You are as quiet as a tiny little mouse.
You are as still as a ancient tree stump.
You are as rough as a mountain’s avalanche.
You are as calm as a sleeping cat.
You are as old as the queen of England.
You are as dangerous as jumping out of a plane without a parachute.
You are the deep blue sea.
Hi Trent, thank you for submitting your poem to TeachingLive. I love the line, “You are as dark as a midnight shadow.” Where did you get that idea from, have you heard it before?
