You are Nature

You are the sound of beating hoofs from a coal black wildebeest,

As they migrate every passing year,

In heards as big as a thousand boulders.

You are the colour of earths green,

Emerald grass, fresh forests and lush jungles,

Together forming a diverse blanket of life.

You are the impossibility of a cheetah cub surviving alone in the night hours,

When hyenas prowl in search of precious food,

And when coldness awakes.

You are nature,

You are the world,

You are my world.

  1. Super imagery Erin, I think your ending is particularly powerful.

  2. Dear Erin,

I love your word choice, but most of all how you claim the world as your own with your final short lines. They make a super contrast to the longer descriptions. This is a great technique to use in all types of creative writing.

    Well done!
