The shield bug dragon
Shield bug dragon
You may suspect this is just a giant shield bug, but no, it is in fact the smallest dragon species in the world. It is the size of a shield bug and can curl into an impenetrable ball, though shield bugs do not have the ability to do this, the dragon also has its differences, like a sharp tail that can grapple onto each tree and can swing around places too. Yes, the dragon has better abilities, but the eyesight of this creature is a little worse than a normal shield bug, for example a shield bug has pretty good eyesight but not for the dragon, the dragon has thermal vision to help its bad eyesight, it needs to look at something for a few seconds to stop it from being blurry.
When this creature is curled into a ball it looks like a caterpillar, they think this will protect them from predators, but some know that there are animals in the world that still want to eat caterpillars as they have been chased many times. The shield bug dragon’s level of speed is incredible for such a small animal, it can move up to two thousand miles per hour and is very swift when it has to take a sharp turn. It also comes in three different colours, red and black, translucent green with grey on the inside, and red. There is one quite rare colour however, a plain green, which allows this species of shield bug dragon to camouflage itself with leaves, this dragon also has a cousin called the chameleon dragon.
In a rainforest area, you could find yourself with a tiny dragon in your hand, as these dragons love human body heat, they’re not used to the cold, since when it is cold these dragons can’t fly, they live in underground burrows in the winter.
So, you think you knew about this dragon, you thought twice didn’t you, well this is what you need to know about the shield bug dragon
I love how you have described your dragon and how you have given where the dragon lives I think you could add maybe what it eats or what animals it doesn’t like.
This is a wonderful piece of work although I have been left wondering what they eat so if you could add that I think this would become even better.
