The Shadow Dragon by Hayden Ashton

I stumbled across the crumbling path, raising eyes to block the blinding rays of light cascading down from the sun.  By the time I reached the top, the rays of sunlight had leaked out out of the sky and was replaced by a silvery mist obscuring the scenic view. Glistening stars were specked across the inky canvas The dark cover was perfect for what I was about to do. I pulled from my pocket a hardened black rock the colour of charcoal and set down carefully on the dusty ground. Then I waited. After a while, I spotted  a vague shape, the reason for my visit. Difficult to see but unmistakably a misty black, the Shadow dragon…
