Captain Benji and the Airship Part Two

The ship looped around in circles and began nosediving towards the dense thicket of tree roots, but Captain Benji dived at his leavers, squinting against the storm, and he landed on a leaver! There was a creaking sound, and the ship spun around, dragging itself back into the sky! It plummeted again, this time heading for a robust mountain, looming, ominously, over the forest.

The ship skidded to a stop, dilapidated, though not old. Felicity hopped, excitedly to the edge to peek out. She immediately slunk back into the shelter of the balloon, shaking. They were balanced precariously on a cliff edge! Felicity spread word about where they were, and the whole crew was struggling over the side like a bunch of old ladies to escape. Once they had all got out of the ship, Felicity took in the view.

The mountain was entirely coated in snow, like icing on a cake. High above the clouds, was the very point of the mountain.

The crew stepped out onto a mountain, surrounded by endless fog. High above the dark halo of mist, the very point of the mountain peered, cautiously above the clouds. As they stood in the fading twilight, the glittering snowdrops pranced and shimmered as the breeze rounded them into large heaps, like small silver fireflies. It felt mysterious as the grey moon gazed down at them, like a supernatural face, the glimmering flecks of snow pranced around the edges of the robust mountain, and the sturdy pine trees swayed, ominously in the subtle breeze, wafting gusts of wind at them. The wind sang, eerily to the mountain, and the silence grew closer. The remaining crew froze, as the wind sang, this time much louder. The children huddled together, as the wind swirled around them. They were the only survivors of the dragon attack, and they felt that the dragons’ dark magic still lingered on the skyship.

There was a small snap from the shadows, and they felt the hot breath of the animal, from all directions. . . .
