I want to paint
I want to paint
my dad’s morning coffee dancing down his throat,
my sister secretly sneaking her phone in her room,
my mom making a morning meal,
my devious dog dissing the dawdling ducks near the pond.
I want to paint
my mom pecking my cheek goodbye like I was her baby bird about to fly for the first time,
my teacher saying good morning to us at the classroom door,
my friends acting like monkeys in the boy’s toilet,
my mom using her eagle eyes to spot me coming home from school,
my mom putting me to bed.
I want to paint
the end of the day
