I have never heard the growl of a lion in the Sahara Desert in Africa,

But I have roared with the crowd in the sands of villa park.

I have never seen a mighty tiger shark devour its prey in the Indian ocean,

But I have seen my dog merlin eat a lamb bone after a roast dinner.

I have never touched the clouds above the city of New York,

But I have touched the top of the rope climb at Lydiard park.

I have never tasted the most expensive cheesecake with a thick chocolate topping,

But I have tasted the freshly-baked apple crumble made with care by my grandma.

I have never been barged away by the Queen’s security guards outside Buckingham palace,

But I have been pushed aside by Dash (The school dog) when he was rushing towards his food bowl.

I have never written a children’s story book,

But I have written this poem.
