Magic
If I were told
to create a treasure,
I would take:
The horn of a unicorn,
The last song of a robin
And the snap of a lobster’s claw.
The shadows from a dark night,
The smile from the Mona Lisa
And the nuts and bolts from the Eiffel tower.
The clap of thunder from a storm,
The tick of a clock
And a twig from a great oak tree.
The first tooth of a baby,
A spark of magic from a wizards wand,
The colors of a rainbow
And chip from a once proud vase.
The first brown spot of a banana,
A bolt of lightning from the eye of a storm,
The first drop of rain
And a spring from a mattress.
A toenail of a witch,
The smell of a flower,
The taste of fresh apple pie,
A diamond big enough to live inside of
And a feather of an eagle.
