Mermaid spotted

By Mimi Martin

Yesterday, Millie Armstrong, age 11, was swimming in the ocean on Long Beach when she came across a mysterious girl with a fish tail. Millie, who has just moved here from London, was cooling down when the girl swam in front of her. Millie wanted to chase after her but she knew she shouldn’t because it might scare the beautiful creature. She told the reporter of the Daily Malibu that when the girl swam past her she swallowed, what felt like, all the water in the ocean. Millie went on to tell us that it was probably a mermaid.

When the Daily Malibu interviewed Millie yesterday evening she was bubbling with excitement but was a tiny bit scared. “I don’t know what will happen to her or me” she exclaimed. Miss Armstrong told us that the mermaid had long, blonde, wavy hair, a shiny, blue, scaly tail and lightly tanned skin. She also added “I have never believed in mythical creatures but now I believe in mermaids 100%!”.

Local policemen say that if you are hunting these wonderful creatures you will receive punishment because although they are half-human they are still wildlife. Bartie Wellman, who works as a lifeguard on Long beach, states “Once I saw strange looking dolphins jumping in and out the ocean, maybe it was a group of mermaids.” he also added “for your own safety, stay away from these half-humans just incase they are vicious.
