Chapter Three: The sacrifice

Chapter Three: Their worst nightmare

Just as the goblins were closing in, something was pushing through the crowd towards Hopkin, Peskin and Mo.

‘It can’t be!’. Hopkin thought in disbelief. It was Ravenwing, one of the Gorm leaders, he was holding a black, jagged sword, his body was encased in netherite and his helmet had pointed spikes shooting upwards and a sly grin spread across his face. ‘You’re not going anywhere. You sneaky rabbits!’, He bellowed. Mo sobbed quietly on Peskin shoulder, but Ravenwing didn’t take any notice to this, ‘You’ll pay for what you’ve done. Now…WHERE’S THE TRIDENT?!’, He shouted. ‘I don’t know.’ mumbled Hopkin.

What would he do? He was trapped by the Gorm and there was no way out. The Gorm asked them several questions, but they did get any answers. Hopkin wasn’t going to tell them one thing after he saw what they did to his father. The Gorm shouted at them with rage, which made his eardrums burst.

The Gorm had enough, they sliced off Hopkin’s ear and the place where his ear used to be bled rapidly and Hopkin cried in pain. Peskin ran as far as she could, holding baby Mo to her chest never looking back. She could still hear piercing cry in the distance and headed for the nearest village she could find.
