Dear Diary 

Today I found a new insect! I didn’t know what it was at first so I took a picture to show my mum, she didn’t know what it was so I showed my dad. Surprisingly, my dad didn’t know either so I tried looking for unusual insects on google.None of them matched this weird looking creature. Until I found a paragraph on something called a scarcrawler. It only had a very tiny picture of it and it looked like the creature I found. In the  paragraph it said it was an ancient  insect from 1 million years ago. It was also super rare nowadays.

Before I could look at the creature more, my mum called me for dinner. At dinner I couldn’t stop thinking about the Scarcrawler, So I made a plan to trap the Scarcrawler in a box (with holes in), then look at more information about it. And this is what I found:

• The Scarcrawler was found just after the dinosaur period and someone from the stone age got ATTACKED by this creature.
• Also they only come out on a warm spring day but no need to worry because they are now  extinct.
• If you do find one,which you won’t, don’t panic but call 999 immediately.
