SilkPoppies
SilkPoppies drift in the Autumn breeze like gentle ballerinas.
Their petals are soft as silk cloth laid on the earth’s surface.
Its stem is as hard as a bare tree trunk, frost running up its crumbling spine
Its leaves wither in the cold climate and harden into cold ice.
Moonflowers.
Moonflowers glisten in the white, dusty moon at night like a bright lightbulb.
Its petals are like soft snow crumbling in the palm of my hand.
Their silver roots are twisted like barbed wire harshly piercing the soil with its spike like thorns.
