Matilda’s joy poem
My joy is made from –
The warming sound of laughter,
A trickling waterfall dropping into a pool of happy memories,
The silent smiles sending happiness across dull faces,
A sunset falling behind miles of ocean
And the smoothing ,melting taste of chocolate.
I found it –
Let loose in my heart wild and free,
When a gleaming light in the shape of my family fills my dark hole,
Where a shadow ends and breaks into sunshine,
Waiting for my mind to stop and take a break
And whispering excitement into my ear.
My joy can –
Dry tears with just one word,
Send loving memories into my brain,
Flip darkness to light,
Sooth anyones hopeful cry’s
And pull broken pieces back together like a magnet,
If I lost my joy –
I wouldn’t be half the person I am now
And life would be a lonely tear.
