chapter 2

The sun had hardly risen when Peter awoke from his sleep. He could hear knocking on the shelter door, which made him feel scared. He saw the rabbit-carrier, who handed him a note which said the Gorm was very near and that their previous home had been destroyed. Peter woke up the others and told them they needed to pack up and leave and go towards Golden Forest.

Several hours later, the trio walked and walked until they reached Golden Forest. Once inside the forest, they saw a golden fox, a hedgehog with golden spikes and golden leaves on golden trees. Beneath their feet they could feel the soft, golden grass which felt cool. A howling fox could be heard on a nearby cliff edge and the scratching of a badger on tree bark. Peter glimpsed a golden frog leaping quickly onto pebbles near the river. Outside of the forest area Peter, Pip and Payton thought they could hear the clinking and clanking of the dreaded Gorm. They were getting closer and closer and the rabbits felt nervous. Living in the Golden Forest was an evil owl that circled round and round looking for food. He swooped towards them and almost grabbed Pip. Luckily, Pip

ducked just in time and ran with his brother and sister as fast as he could for shelter…
