The winter break limped like a grandma going to asda. Everyday, Jacob had to work on the crops. Without knowing, the trees, flowers, bushes, and villages were more familiar than the rusty clay houses and cracked buildings. Unlike the town, the village was a land of grass, with colorful butterflies, straight logs you can sit on, cozy animal fur sofas and green branches that smelled of tigers covered in mud. As the sunset falled, Jacob was picking out carrots, he felt a stillness he’d never known before.

At night, Jacob creeked down the stairs like a mouse. He stumbled through the branches trying to find Jaggy, “ There u are” giggled Jacob. He stud on a log and reached out to Jaggy. Sometimes they would lie on the grass and stare into the unknown. They would watch the owl spinning its head like a madman and gaze at the stars. Often Jaggy would hear a sound and wiz threw the whole village bringing back a rabbit or some scraps, Jacob would start the fire and put the poor rabbit on top. They got to know the great bowen owl flying like a plane in turbulence across the village and the ostrich that walks like a businessman. The one thing that Jacob was worried about was that someone or something would stumble across Jaggy. In the daytime, he would be hidden in his cave eating his leftovers scraps from night. In the night, he would dash miles inside the crops, it was nearly impossible to find him.

But it happened. One night in the middle of February Jacob was making his way to the branches and heard an unfriendly rawr. He dashed towards the branches, finding his former friend James bleeding from one finger to the other and Jaggys teeth covered in fresh blood. Jacob picked up some scraps from James’ toolbox and fed them to Jaggy calming him down. “ You should go now” whispered Jacob “ or things are going to get a lot worse”. James ran as fast as a cheetah being chased by a hyena. Jacob heard him stumbling the crops and rabbit bones. He picked up Jaggy and brought him inside. He put him in the sind and cleaned off the blood on his teeth. Then he put him to bed and had a big discussion with Mrs Ren. Jacob thought that now James knows he will tell his parents about it and more issues will happen leading more people to find Jaggy. He thought of some new places he, Mrs Ren and Jaggy should stay after all there are more than five villages in the valley and some have not a big majority of people perfect from anyone else knowing about Jaggy.
