Home…
Dear Mum,
Thanks for my monopoly kit, my friends and I played on the train, what felt like an eternity we finally arrived in Owatik village, the flowers were dashing pink and purple, not like the rusty, dead ones at the old home.
Once we got there I crouched behind my friends like an ant about to be pulled into jail. My friends got picked, then some random tall lady grabbed me by my hand and gave me a welcoming hug.
The lady lives in a wooden cabin not like the stone huts at home. She brought me up to my room, it was like a clear blue sky. I had a window and could see the whole village.
She gave me a lot of rules like I have to clean the pigs tub, feed the pigs, wash the cows and get
the eggs from the chickens. I have a cotton sheep bed eggs and some old used clothes from the last kid. We also have a picnic area two minutes down the road where we eat bacon sandwiches and red apples.
The craziest part is Mrs Renrufered had a humongous brown chicken that lives with its four kids in a wooden coop and sometimes if I am lucky Mrs Renrufered gives me a boiled egg and some bacon from the pigs and the chicken doesn’t much wake me up, it has a rusty screek.
Owatik village is a huge green village with dashing flowers and has over 13 houses. They have hopscotch on the gravel and little pathways where we can ride our bikes and long trees where me and my friends try to climb.
Mrs Renrufered takes me to school 5 days a week, not like home. When it was two days a week we learned about carbon dioxide and cars putting gas in the air. They girls usually play hopscotch and Boys used to play chess, this boy named Bobby is a master at chess.
I wish you and dad are safe. Everyday I wish for you guys to see me again. Hopefully dad beats MacArthur and comes back sooner than the war ends.
Yours sincerely – Jay.
