Mystic Doors
Carefully, go and open the pink door,
perhaps there is-
a pig snorting rudely
candyfloss clouds dropping sweets like heavy hail
or delicious raspberries floating in mid air.
Slowly, go and open the scarlet door,
perhaps there is-
a single, pretty, poison poppy,
rose petals falling like leaves from an oak tree
or bushes of sour strawberries.
Excitedly, go and open the black door,
perhaps there is-
a bat on the cave top hanging like icicles,
a cow chewing the cud
or bin bags hopping like black bunnies.
Quickly, go and open the yellow door,
perhaps there is –
the sun clapping his hands,
bananas swimming in the custard lake
or small stars reflecting on the river.
Anxiously, go and open the green door,
perhaps there is –
mint ice cream freezing in the sunlight,
jumping frogs turning to swimming tadpoles
or fresh leaves flying through the air.
