The wonder emporium
Prologue
There are some places where no one ever entered. That was The Wonder Emporium.
Even though you could see bowls of sweets filled to the brim in the window. Even though you could smell freshly baked cake all through the year. Even though you could hear Christmas music inside in December.
But no one ever entered The Wonder Emporium. The doors were always locked and the inside was always pitch black. No one that is until Jeffrey.
Chapter 1
One dark evening Jeffrey was walking home from his friend’s house.
It was already getting dark and the only thing he could here was his own footsteps.
And that was when he walked past the wonder emporium and something caught his eye.
The pad lock on the door was unlocked.
And soon enough without thinking Jeffrey stepped inside.
When he took a step inside it was as if there was a dust explosion.
When he wiped the dust out of his eyes he saw all sorts of things there was an old brown leather jacket hanging on a chair, a grandfather clock ticking every second, all sorts of toys in a plastic container , an ancient chess board piled with dust. A wooden train going round the room endlessly.
A signed football shirt hanging in a platinum glass container.
A bowl of mouth-watering sugar filled sweets and a deflating balloon swirling around the room with the draft.
But what caught his eye the most was an old black leather book. He opened it and started reading.
As he was reading the words started to move and make different pictures as if it was alive.
”I see you have found my book of miracles” hissed a disturbing voice. Jeffrey gasped, and hid the book behind his back and looked up at the owner. He was an old man with a hunched back. And down at his feet there was a seven foot crocodile bearing its teeth at Jeffrey, disapprovingly.
