Charlie and the Enchanted Forest.
While Charlie meandered around, all of a sudden he noticed an unusual shaped book resting upon a rose quartz stand. It looked like it was glistening as bright as fireworks on November fifth. Charlie couldn’t control his excitement as he sprinted towards it.
“Don’t touch that!” shouted Mr Silver angrily slamming his hand on the stand so hard it almost cracked the quartz! “Why not?” stammered Charlie in shock.
“Just don’t young man, have I made myself clear?” Charlie agreed not to go near the book again but still was curious why he couldn’t touch it. The boy cheekily pretended to leave the Emporium but instead found a hiding space behind an old wooden door…
As soon as Mr Silver left the Emporium, Charlie crept out of his hiding spot and wandered towards the diamond shaped book. Feeling brave, Charlie picked up the book, raised it above his chin and began to open it. To his surprise, all of the pages were completely blank! His eyes almost popped out of his head in shock.
This didn’t feel right to Charlie so he picked up a pen that had a peacock’s feather on the tip, and began to write word after word sentence after sentence page after page until he had written a completely random story about an Enchanted Forest. After all of that time and writing Charlie had realised nothing had happened. So he thought…
Charlie suddenly felt a horrific stabbing pain in his hip until he collapsed onto the wooden floorboards.
All of a sudden, fields of trees emerged into sight. Charlie Redgrave was in a forest! How could this have happened to him?
Charlie couldn’t comprehend what was going on so he bravely decided to go and look around. After a while, he could start to see very unusual things start to appear such as: a procession of gigantic purple squirrels; flowers that smelt like diesel working its way into a car and a pink flowing river that seemed to be as deep as the Pacific Ocean. The boy was utterly confused and excited at the same time. He felt like he was dreaming.
