Secret Keepers

“Greetings harmless being, My name is Liona Whitlock ” she claimed, whilst raising her hand and waving it politely. “It’s been a few months now and I’m currently working at my Grandma Silvia’s new shop, in Huntingburg.”  Liona wanders around searching for Silvia. Moments later she recognises grandma’s new purple shirt and calls her with shock. “Nana, you’re supposed to be helping me at this hour! What are you doing?!” Liona helps Slivia cross the road and asks her what she was doing. “Liona darling follows me, this is important. You’re the chosen one.” They head off to the emporium and Grandma gives Liona an essay on why she should not touch the book.

Time runs by like a passing train, Silvia has gone to collect some groceries from the supermarket so she can make her world famous soup. Liona sighs “Should  I collect the book, I know that Granny will be upset. But I really want to know! What’s the deal with this book?”

A few seconds later, Liona swoops the book in one big go and shoves it in her backpack. “Hopefully nobody saw me, now let’s get out of here before I get caught!” She collects her fake club card that she made with her Granny’s old printer, and hurry’s out of there. In one swift move she unlocks the front door of her friend’s apartment “Sorry Raqqilaih but I have to stay here for a few days.” Liona dives into the foam mattress and absorbs the delightment.

“Hold on, Liona, how did you get my keys?” Raqqilaih questions with an empty mind.

“Oh, did you forget? You always leave the key under your welcome mat outside. So can I stay here?” Liona asks with a warm feeling of excitement.

“Why? Did you do something to make Silvia kick you out? If so, you are a troublemaker. Also yeah you can stay here. My mothers at work right now so I’m kind of lonely,”Riqqilaih answers with a worried grin on her face. Without words for Riqqilah’s actions of kindness she runs into an empty room, locks and bolts the door; with a heavy slam; sits on the floor and opens this mysterious book. Moments later, some kind of magic is controlling her, she can not help but start to draw, flashing lights of all kinds. Wonderful artefacts, all beautiful colours, street lights; city lights, flashing red, orange and green, Car’s speeding wild; It’s like a portal that’s…unbreakable. The only problem now is how do we hide this from Raqqilaih after all this is her apartment. “Oh my goodness, I’m in deep trouble now!” Without thinking she escapes out the window, forgetting that she closed the door shut! She can’t look back. She left everything behind her, her friend, her bag, but the only thing she didn’t leave is the book.

“I have to return this, immediately.” Liona runs past the streets and roads, only to be caught by a dead end.

Hours later, She’s been around the whole town.

“Let me just go back.” Liona says, feeling regretful of her actions. She climbs up the window only to see an innocent black cat. Liona follows behind it. It looks like it’s going into the portal.

“WAIT!” Liona exclaims, holding her hand out to rescue it.

“Liona, are you ok? You’ve been there for a while now. Oh, and my Mum brought us some crisps, let’s eat!” Riqqiliah stammers, but she is too late. Liona is in the portal. She accidentally closed the book, she is trapped. No escape!

Her heart was now throbbing with fear; veins popped out of her skin. Sudden panic gave her butterflies. A whole asylum of blood dripping red was formed;

“Master, she is the chosen one. The one you’ve been locating for years, she is now in your hands.” The black cat said whilst purring and cleaning himself.

Everything was different

“I thought I drew a city? Didn’t I?” Liona mumbled.

“Stupid child, you where a sleep for a hour or two. My  colleagues carried you to be in my presence today. We know black cats are your favourite animal, so we knew how to drag you here.

“Oplamal! The monster will soon arise, bring this girl to the dungeon, let’s test if she really is the guardian.” An unknown voice triggered Liona’s ear. Power took over her , and soon she was clashing to the ground with a great big thump. She woke up to red dripping blood, goblins and elves surrounding her.

“We were once like you! A human, but after they took us here it all went down,” Elf #2200 claims.

Heat was round her: boiling hot heat sizzled her blood; through the depths of the unknown pitch black shone through her innocent lives; soon her blood became cold, it was like -20˚ through her bones; spikes rose high out from the bottom; water poured out her eyes like a watering can being sprinkled all over you; sharp thorns like the devil, and spikes arising from the depths.

“ELVES! GOBLINS! And finally our leader, the black cat, is here.” All Liona could hear was an echo.

A crowd of applause surrounds Liona.

“Rules are simple, if you don’t successfully show your power or have fear against this monster you shall become an elf. If you are successful, power will be in your hands. You shall now be called Goddess Of Strength Liona. Good luck.” The black cat says as he approaches Liona, soon he pushes her into a temple. The mythical giant shines out of the darkness, and liona is  lost  for words

“Do not come a step closer!” And that was all they heard of Liona last…
