Masks can describe many things – a poem
As I put on the mask of food I saw,
the grease on a gooey pizza,
the snap of an overcooked chip
and the seeds on a fresh burger bun.
As I put on the mask of time I saw,
the enormous big ben’s hands ticking like a timer on a bomb,
a slug moving slowly like a car with three wheels
and the joyful day slowly turning into a miserable night.
As I put the mask of liquid I saw,
the fizz of a opened can of soda,
the tap water rushing down like a waterfall
and a ship sinking into an ocean.
As I put on the mask of suspicion I saw
sneaky raccoons searching for food,
a cave darker than a bats fur
and a pair of bright yellow cat’s eyes.
As I put on the mask of fire I saw,
The fireplace crackling like fireworks,
a fire cracker sprinkling like a sprinkler
and pieces of old magazines being burned in a garden.
