The eagle mask
I wore the green mask and saw,
a light green, tuft of mint,
an emerald leaf,
a dead cactus.
I wore the blue mask and saw,
a beautiful blue whale in the dark sea,
a delicious blueberry,
a butterfly waiting to spread it’s wings.
I wore the orange mask and saw,
a pumpkin as bright as a flame,
a basketball bouncing,
a carrot stuck in the ground.
I wore the red mask and saw,
blood from a chicken,
heart popping chilli,
a field of poppies.
I wore the yellow mask and saw,
a dark yellow banana,
a lemon cake,
the trumpet of a daffodil.
I wore the pink mask and saw,
the feathers of flamingos,
cherry blossom cotton,
cotton candy from the beach.
