Chapter 4

Ignoring the sounds in his mind, Adil froze where the door stood before he came. There was nothing there but strangely, there was a little house that looked private. It was very weird with gas lifting it from the ground. Gold bars hanging from the window. Gazing through the gas, he tried to find something but found nothing. There were bandages all around the house with dinosaur bones. Looking one more time he found the shape of a door hiding in the gas.

Relieved, he ran into the gas without thinking. Down, down in the deep surface of the gas he saw the door in full shape. His heart beat faster and faster. Desperately, he started to run out of oxygen but he kept on kicking the door harder and harder. Grasping the handle of the door, he pulled. With the snap of a finger,as if he ran out of oxygen,he was in a room. Exhaustingly, he lay down taking deep breaths in, like a lion in the water. The door was then closed. The corridor was dry and warm. Amazingly, all of his clothes were warm too.He was back in the shop. What really happened?

Guiltily, he crept back, sneaking under the tables and behind the shelves as he stepped back in.The owner was there and stared at him,” Ah,I suppose you liked the ride then ?” Adil shook his head, uncertain of how he felt.“ The thing is,” the owner explained, “you must be very cautious about what you do in the emporium,” He sat down whilst polishing his gems and smiled at Adil.

Adil stepped outside the emporium and into the street, interested he wanted to find out more about the emporium so he turned round. When he turned round the emporium and the owner disappeared with the snap of a finger as if it had never existed. He shuddered.

Maybe another day, he thought to himself as he walked home. Maybe another day.

What he did not know was that a strange bat was following him.It flew around a tree outside his house and stared at him when he went in.The bat tilted from side to side. It had everything you needed.
