Logan put on the mask of …

Logan put on the mask of …

I put on the mask of fiery orange and heard

the crackling of fire burning,

the bounce of a basketball

and the bubbling of the clownfish swimming through the dark water.

I put on the mask of green and saw

fat frogs eating flies over the dirty green swamp water,

long grass making shelter for small insects squealing for help

and trees towering over the swamp.

I put on the mask of bright brown and felt

the bears brown beautiful fur

up against the bark on the tree

and acorns wating to be stepped on.

I put on the mask of red and saw

the abandoned post box

surrounded by bright red poppy’s majestically shinning bright

and rose petals floating on the floor like blood dripping from noses.

I put on the mask of black and saw

the muddy car tyres

in the deep dark corner of the alley way

and my shadow disappears in the night

I put the white mask on and felt

Puffy clouds fluffing up in the sun’s beautiful rays,

like marshmallows over a fire

and sugar dropping with a plop into tea.
