The Friendly Emporium
Chapter 2 A Warning Disobeyed
Para1
“I am Douglass Nash,” said the old man, making a b-line to Cole Ricki with his pitch black eyes.
“Hello Mr. Nash, I am Cofle Ricki.” replied the boy, hesitating.
“You may look around my shop and you can touch things to your hearts content, but you must not touch That BOOK!” He explained, with a very very serious look on his face.
Para 2
Once the owner had left, he went over and looked at the book. In the shop he noticed that there was a bouncy ball in the middle of the room, then it started to role towards the book and hit the table. Suddenly, the book fell to the ground and opened.
Para 3
But for some reason all that the book had inside was lots and lots of numbers, numbers page after page it seemed like some sort of secret code, and at the end it said “YOU DID THE WRONG THING, YOU HAVE NOW PUT EVERY ONE IN DANGER. THE BOOK WAS ATTACHED TO A STRING, SO THAT IF THE BOOK WAS EVER OPENED THEN IT WOULD PUT THIS EMPORIUM IN SELF DISTRUCT MODE!”
It wasn’t me, the book f…f…fell o…open.
Chapter 2 part 2
Without thinking, he picked up a pen and started to draw a picture of his mom who had not long died of cancer. As soon as he finished the picture, all of the ink changed from eyes, ears, noses and clothes to numbers, lots and lots of numbers.
Cole closed the book and headed through the curtain. He dashed over to a big carboard box beside the wall, he panicked and kicked the boxes but then his foot hit something hard.
He stood in front of a door that was made of mercury.
He stepped through the door and found himself not in a room but in a wonderland. The wonderland was vibrant green and was filled with lots and lots of different kinds of animals.
