The unknown
After several seconds of tense waiting, a sound was finally heard, but no angry, hair-raising or spine chilling sound. The sound of a single hummingbird’s joyful song. Invitingly, ahead was a small wooden hut maybe 15 years old. The hut had wooden hanging boards falling down, and moss covering it like a cosy warm blanket. Emma sprinted towards the crooked, broken door. Twisting the knob on the door faster than she ever had before. As she walked in she called out “Hello”. But no answer responded back, just silence.
As Emma looked round something peculiar caught her eyes. A large box labelled toys was in view, the box was warm and faded, it seemed as if it had been sitting a long time. She slowly unboxed everything: a few old fashioned barbie dolls; yoyos with gigantic knots in them; rotten footballs from 1984; but most importantly a rubix cube. Her mind couldn’t process these toys. Then a rhythmic beat started. A vicious, worrying beat. Then a scratching noise began like a mega sword fight in an arena. Emma gulped as she gripped the door handle as tight as she could.Something was getting closer and closer. Then she saw it, two beady eyes staring, gawping at her. Violently, she kicked the broken door down and ran. The beating of the thing continued as Emma ran. Reluctantly, something caught up. She soon reached the door and twisted the knob, but the door was locked. There was a lost soft speaking voice calling, come back…
