Wondrous Treasures

If I were summoned

to create a treasure,

I would take:

a giant emperor scorpion,

a rattling diamondback rattlesnake,

and a deadly sting from the box jellyfish,

a chest of gold,

a sapphire forged into a golden ring,

and a diamond the size of my hand,

the menacing goliath bird eating tarantula,

the bite of a king cobra,

and a banana from a monkey,

the snow from the tip of Mount Everest,

the rocks from the top of a volcano,

and a pool of water from Lake Nyos,

a copper dagger which Alexander the Great used on display,

a bone of a tyrannosaurus rex,

and a stone axe used by the Vikings,

a lightning bolt that Zeus was charging up to launch at an incoming Titan,

Hades waiting in the deep depths of the underworld,

and Poseidon sitting down in his underwater throne,

Father Christmas’ sack of presents,

the elves tools to build any toys I want,

and his mysterious sleigh,

the blinding rage of an erupting volcano,

the sweeping power of hurricane Camille,

and the shaking strength of the Valdivia earthquake.
