A Rainbow of Masks

 I wore the red mask and saw

 a field of bright red poppies,

a fireball as bright as the sun

 and a beating heart right in front of my eyes.

I wore the blue mask and saw

the wonderful ocean,

sunny blue sky

       and a blueberry bush.

I wore the yellow mask and saw

a ripe banana,

the bright yellow sun

 and a shooting star.

I wore the green mask and saw

bright green grass,

a green leprechaun

 and leaves swaying in the wind.

I wore the black mask and saw

 the blackest coal,

the night sky

and an ace of spades.

I wore the orange mask and saw

an orange tree,

fire burning as bright as the sun

and tree sap dripping out of a tree.

I wore the white mask and saw

cloud in the sky,

a great white shark

and a blank piece of paper.
