A Rainbow of Masks

A Rainbow of Masks

I wore the yellow mask and saw

a daffodil blooming in the freshly cut grass,

the sun shining in the still blue sky

and the ducklings calmly swimming in the frosty quiet lake.

I wore the pink mask and I felt

the sweet tingling tasty candyfloss melting in my mouth,

the feeling of rose petals drifting from my hands

and the sweet icy  taste of strawberry ice cream dripping down my chin.

I wore the blue mask and saw

the icy ocean tingling my fingertips,

and the cold breeze of the summer sky

and a whale soaring in the air.

I wore the clear mask and saw

the ice skating rink melting like butter,

the glistening glass shining in the light

and the clear transparent water shining in the sun.

I wore the white mask and saw

the clouds floating in the clear blue sky,

the moon shining in the dark night sky

and the cream on top of the dripping ice cream.

I wore the green mask and saw

a  frog leaping from side to side,

a leaf blowing towards the wind and swirling in circles

and a mint green sweet tingling on my tongue.
