Chapter 3

Suddenly a rustling sound came from the evergreen bushes. Curious, Elliana decided to see what it was. Gradually, a shockwave of fear took over the girl’s body as a swarm of perishing pixies bolted out of the hedge. “Do not fear.” One of the pixies said in a delicate, subtle tone. “We come with peace, we have Dr Bristal.” 

Instantaneously, the pixies voice changed to a serious more worried resonance. “We have to go before it’s too late.” The pixies warned Elliana of the dangers such as: Mighty-Manticores; Killer-Bees and Death-Eater Dragons. You don’t want an encounter with any of them.

Risking her life, she nervously power walked across the island hoping she could find Frankie and Captain Cracker and tell them the news. Many minutes later, Frankie and Elliana were reunited but still not Captain Cracker. Where was he? Was he ok?

The children’s emotions changed. Fear turned into panic, panic turned to dread. In moments three turned into two as Captain Cracker was found by the pixies lifeless; stone cold. The Mighty-Manticore found him before they did. 

Frankie cleared his throat. “We can’t let that stop us… we have to move on.” Sorrowful, Elliana did as she was told and meandered back to the ship to set off once again.

Frankie’s heart was racing faster than a rabbits, his top lip was sweating and his dainty hands were shaking. Now Captain Cracker had passed it was all up to him to pilot. With only a little bit of training, he waited for Elliana to finish packing and then started the engine. They were off.
