Cosmic dragon

Cosmic dragon

The cosmic dragon

looks up from his

everlasting slumber

It’s bottomless pitch eyes

Suddenly snap open

The wonky jaws

Prise open

Revealing zip like teeth

Glowering incisors

Ready to rip brick open

A blunt black tongue

Whips out of

A malicious mouth

As if to warn victims

Skin as smooth

As sanded wood

Patterned with dazzling diamond stars

That glow and shimmer in the daylight

Worried wings flick upwards

And start beating

Leisurely drifting upward

He is gone

Leaving

A

Single

Gold

Coin

  1. This is a great poem and I especially love the last line I think it is a great ending to a beautiful poem. I love the descriptive words like everlasting and leisurely.
