                    Knapsack

A  map of Ancient lore, to guide me through the night,

A cloak of Elven Silk, to keep me out of sight

A pouch of magic dust, to make a quick escape

A lantern filled with fireflies, their light a gentle drape

A flute carved from an Elder Branch, it’s melody so clear

To soothe the savage beasts, or bring the distant near

A dagger made of silver with runes along the blade, 

For when peace is not good enough & alliances must fade

A vital of crystal water, from the sacred Elven Spring,

A loaf of honeyed bread, for the energy it’ll bring 

A feather from a Griffin, A leaf from the World Tree,

Tokens of the journey, of the places I’ll be 

        So off I go, with my little monkey, Monty, by my side, under the moon’s soft glow

               With my rucksack on my back,

           Into the world of Unknown…
