Chapter 1 – Windeater’s Failure

The Windcontrollers were all aboard the deck of the Windeater. Zack was sitting peering over the edge. Rob was crawling around aimlessly, like a real spider, looking for megaflies to eat. Jared didn’t move at all. K was plugged into the controls, maintaining its grasp on the ship’s system. They were above the Aggressea and were very close to their destination, Dyomesaia. Zack’s boredom was contagious.

“How long is left until we’re at Dyomesaia’s closest port?” Zack huffed. K was about to give an answer but its digital mouth thinned into a straight line before it could speak. K calmed down a little and yelled,

“Doesn’t matter! Everyone tend to the engine! NOW!” and everyone did what it said. The engine (which was faulty at random intervals) was intact. Before any of them could move a muscle, the ship screeched and plummeted rapidly. Everything turned pitch black in a blink.
