The Rainbow of Masks

I wore the red mask and saw …

Roses and poppies glistening in a never-ending field 

Where strawberries and watermelons will not yield 

I wore the orange mask and saw …

Fiery sun dancing in the sky 

And a ferocious  lions winking eye

I wore the yellow mask and saw …

Lemons being squeezed

While dandelions wheezed

I wore the green mask and saw …

Broccoli leaves twirled while

Emerald patterns swirled

I wore the blue mask and saw …

Bluebirds that flew while 

Blue bells grew

I wore the purple mask and saw …

Violets that were squashed and 

Blackberries that were washed
