One morning, the rain poured heavily from the sky. It filled the gardens, the streets, and fields. Mrs Heather stood by the window, shaking her head. “It is like a flood!” she shouted. 

But Serena couldn’t wait. She had to find Kia and save the monster.

Serena ran outside and was soaking wet and her boots were filled with water. She searched everywhere,

calling for Kai, but only the rain answered.

She knocked on Mrs Laila’s door. She Peeked out.“Don’t step on my clean floor”! 

“Sorry, Mrs Laila. Have you seen Kai?” Serena asked.

Mrs Laila shook her head. “No,” she shouted and shut the door.

Serena stood by the church, cold and wet. Then, she had an idea! Maybe Kai had gone back to the  monster?

Kai loved mysterious things.

And she was right! Kai was hiding in a bush, smiling. He’s my friend now!” 

She said, giving Serena a hug.

Years passed by. Kai went to war and never came back home. But the monster stayed in the village for a long time. Then one day,  he disappeared.

Serena never saw him again, but in her dreams, she still sees him—her old friend, playing together.
